At a macro level, I don't see inflation or geo-political situation changing for the better any time soon, thus MYP price likely to remain high for the next few years. Eventually Tesla efficiency efforts may bring their costs down, but I would not expect that very soon.

If you want one, order it. If prices go down you can re-order at minimal expense

Thoughts? Thinking about just ordering one to lock it in, but given delivery dates seem months out, how soon do I need to have financing and things in order? Will they assign a VIN to me before that, or only after?

People have an emotional attachment to money, and the value they receive.

With current inflation situation, many long the the lower prices and lower interest rates of a year ago.

Reality is that currently, most high demand items are going up in price. It will take some time for those used to the old prices to adapt to a new normal.
