Wouldn’t it be nice if the updates simply had a few notes about WHY the update. Even if it simply said NO CHANGE EXCEPT BUG FIXES.
kinda frustrating sometimes. I get why they don’t I guess, but sure would go along way to helping the tesla community

then tesla would have to admit they made at fault with something.... which is against tesla's policy. (sarcasm)

I'm following the standard naming convention. I think it makes some sense because sometimes the "minor" point releases actually have major changes. But I don't feel strongly either way.

Fair point. In the model 3 section they have the ".x" and it seemed to go well. Its much easier to follow the posts about the update when its in one place personally. But if folks/mods disagree, then im cool with it. Just a suggestion.

Even though release notes look the same, there could be serious improvements like with AP, ability to move the rearview camera up to the top (again), and other things...

its been said before (by others) but worth repeating that the release number is just the week number o that release.
So technically 2018.40.x is a two week old release already, which is about right for it to start appearing.

Where does the option appear?
A new temporary menu item?
In settings...?

Just finished driving. I didn’t even get a “minor bug fixes”, just repromt of v9 features. Don’t notice anything different, even autopilot wise

Looks like a few more .40 went out today. Seems pretty normal.
Cue posts about it only going to S & X and how it won’t work on Model 3.

Installed on S75D AP2 MCU1. No changes. Same exact release notes as previous 2018.39.7. No mention of bug fixes.
