SR+ 1/4 mile, really surprised

Tracks haven't gotten going here really so I went out to the boonies and did a pass on 90%, full weight with my thick rubber front, rear and full interior mats.

Last year this same strip of road was roughly 0.1-0.05 slower than my times at my local track. I ran a slew of 10.80's here and went 10.78 in my other car.

Thinking I might take the seats out and try for 12.99 when the strip opens. I am not sure if I could get to the track with 90%+ though.

It was 5.10, but slightly below 1% threshold for validity. Same as my local track. The first 100ft or so is -1.2-1.5 depending on lane and then it evens out.

Wouldn't really matter- not even the P is traction limited.

13.33@106 is very respectable for an SR+.... that's about what LR RWDs were doing IIRC (though I'm unsure I've seen any after the free performance boosts, so presumably they're a touch quicker now)

To put that in perspective, that is similar ET and MPH to a 1997-2004 5.7 L V8 Corvette that was badged at 345-350 HP. And quicker than nearly all the cars made in the Musclecar Era (1964-1972).

I am curious to how much is left with a few tweaks. I know some companies are releasing sensor manipulators to add some power (electrified garage) but not for the SR+ yet.

EG is selling the device, they didn't create it (a company in Canada did) and far as anyone can tell they're not actually "tuning" the car- it's just tricking the car into thinking it's a faster, existing, trim of the same hardware... (ie telling a LR AWD it bought the "boost" option when it didn't- or telling a same-HW-as-P AWD it's a P).

Since there's no factory faster version of the SR+ hardware they likely won't have anything for you.

I suppose they potentially could offer an option to turn an SR into an SR+ though I dunno if it'd be worth it for either the seller or the buyer there compared to just paying Tesla to do it given the drawbacks.

But no, the 333HP version of the Bimmer M3 is about 0.2s and 2 mph slower. LS1 Camaros and Firebirds would rape them at less than 1/2 the price.
