I bought the exact same drive and have been very happy with it.I bought a Samsung T7 500GB SSD which comes frequently recommended. Very easy to set up using the “security” tab on the Tesla screen.
I've only had my car a little over 2 months and the drive has been in for most of that time. Thanks guy's how is the longevity of the T7 in the Tesla? also how long have you had it installed in your Tesla's?
T7 has been working perfectly for me (at least after the latest FW update which restored Sentry functionality).Sorry to resurrect a 2 month old thread but just wondering how the T7 is working out for you guys? Was it just as simple as plugging in and formatting using the tesla menu? how is playback in car? TIA!
I've been using a SanDisk 500GB Extreme Portable External SSD for a year now with no issues for Sentry mode. No issues with the extreme heat and cold in Chicagoland. What is the most reliable SSD portable drive. I am really confused about which one there are so many with a wide range of prices.
any help is appreciated
Have you tried formatting the drive using the car’s MCU? I’ve been using the 512GB T7 and it’s been working fine. Even partitioned a small part of the drive for music files.Hey Everyone,
Hopingj you can help. I have a Samsung T7 1TB USB 3.2 Gen. 2 Portable Solid State Drive - Grey and have been using this for the past two months.
All of a sudden my screen has a grey triangle “some clips may not be saved” “USB to slow for dash cam” “use USB drives that writes at 4mb/a or higher”.
Any helps is appreciated. Thank you.
Ditto on the reformat, you can also download Samsung Magician and look at the over-provisioning (you can increase) and see if it is showing bad cells.Hey Everyone,
