Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I noticed this late-model Impala in traffic today. Note the chrome band across the trunk which has the word “Impala” in raised chrome letters (they’re hard to see):

The tail lights also look familiar.

That's funny, because the Model S occasionally reminds me of driving my dad's 1974 Impala. Both have empty floor space between driver and passenger (I don't have a center console); both have a steering-column shifter, and both can feel like parking a boat.
