It's not surprising that this station is unpowered. Tesla will put the stall numbers on the pedestals when they do their final check-out, you can tell from the picture that this hasn't happened yet.

If you happen to stop by again, see if you can spot the utility transformer and meter. If the transformer is still missing, it could be a long while until this station is up and running. If the transformer is there but the meter is missing, it probably means the utility hasn't completed their final inspection.

No power. I could not see a meter. I suspect it would be located behind the locked fence with the electrical equipment.

Greater convenience.
Smart meters – FPL’s standard electric meter – mean that we no longer need access to your property every month to read the meter. That's because the smart meter enables remote two-way communication between the meter and FPL, enabling us to get accurate meter readings without inconveniencing customers whose meters are hard to access. And if you move out of your home or business, we can provide an accurate meter reading instead of estimating or prorating the bills.

From FPL website. Again, not sure if this is true for this type of commercial project.

Hi Adam,

Your photos and the one in posting #53 show that the Tesla Supercharger Cabinets and High Voltage Switchgear are located inside the enclosure. There does not appear to be any utility transformer.

I haven’t seen any meters in TESLA stations.
Hi Andy,

Here’s the meter cabinet at Plantation before the meter socket was installed. Miami / Ft Lauderdale Supercharger (Plantation)

Here’s the meter cabinet at the Orlando Wawa before the meter socket was installed or the utility transformer was installed. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/attachments/1b08355f-adcb-486c-8438-fce62389e1ed-jpeg.262613/

You will find that there is a utility meter at every Supercharger Station location, you just have to look for them.

Is there only one meter for the entire bank of chargers at a given site? It seems there would be too much current for one meter to handle. There has to be some kind of limit to the amount of amps that a meter can handle.
Hi Gavin,

There is only one meter. The meter doesn't take the full current of an installation. It takes a much lower current and is calibrated.

I believe this location will draw from Duke Energy... like FPL they have gone the remote monitoring route. That being said waiting on Duke for anything timely, in my experience, will be frustrating. Maybe this round they’ll surprise us.

You would think they would be in at least a little bit of a hurry to connect something that is going to bring-in revenue for them.

Next time I am at the location, I will look around for a meter.
Hi Adam,

Thanks, but more importantly we need a photo of the utility transformer and the cable pole to get a better idea of the status of this installation.

Please refer to posting #48 where I speculate where the utility might place the transformer and cable pole feeding the transformer. Those locations might be a good place to start looking.

I studied your photo. I will try to locate this elusive meter and snap a photo of it while it may be asleep.

This is a pic, before the power was connected to the Palm Bay SuperCharger with an empty power meter box mounted on fence that surrounds the SuperChargers note the slab for the transformer. The power will run underground to the transformer as told to me by the instalation crew.8B0AD096-9840-4515-824B-090ACF3342B8.jpeg
