There's a media and invited guests only event this morning starting at 9 AM for the opening of the park.which will definitely be unavailable, and public grand opening starting at 4 PM. You might be able to test starting after the media event ends (if they unblock it but it might remain blocked until the public opening) and should definitely be able to at 4 PM but it might be busy.

Tesla is calling the site 'Calgary, AB - Macleod Trail Southeast' and it is listed as pay to park. Unless it's $1 for 20 minutes and free after 5pm, I'm gonna go ahead and say this was a dumb place to put a supercharger.

I think it's a fantastic loc for an SC for all the condo dwellers but if people have to pay to use it that's odd ?? I've used many SCs in many downtown locations in cities and don't think I've ever had to pay to park ?

If it actually is pay to park who is actually going to bother to do it ? If you are there for a 20 min or less "splash and dash" I would assume most won't bother checking in with Park Plus or whoever is managing that lot.

Oh, it's a great location, but I can already see the gears turning in peoples heads and arriving at the conclusion that their Flames game, stampede or casino needs justify ICEing a stall (or two if their F-450 doesn't fit in just one).

oh good point; yes especially during events the chances of this location getting ICE'd up is very high. Damn.

Honestly, I feel like the parking people don't come by frequently enough for most to even worry about it if you're charging for 20-30 minutes. In the entire time I've lived downtown, I've seen the parking people like 4 or 5 times.

The parking for this site is as follows:

Superchargers: Free to park for 30min officially. Effectively exempt from parking fees. Electricity rates charged and set by tesla.

L2: Free to park for 2hrs
Pay for the following 2hrs
4hr max
Subject to standard parking fees after the first two hours. Electricity is free.

Pay to park is very lame, free 30 minutes are ok but I will bet this will be the most ICEd out spot in the city.

So my old 2016 model S, may need more than 30 min, but that might be enough to get me in a pinch to fort MacLeod without having to hit up cross iron. And if I had to pay 4$ not the end of the world, since I have free supercharging for life
