From where? The handful of people that go from Renfrew or Arnprior to Mt Tremblant.

When I have driven to Mt Tremblant from Ontario I went through Montreal and went North.
You can save yourself 47 km next time. I agree that Ottawa isn't typically a travelling-through city. I think better locations would be between Ottawa and other nearby cities. But a Supercharger couldn't hurt to be in capital city of the 2nd biggest country in the world.

I haven't seen one yet where that has been the reason. Could you share your source? The more likely scenario is where the host's electrical capacity is not sufficient to handle the full 50kW output.
You could be right and it could be just speculation from a member of our forum I talked to but someone should confirm this. The only thing I can confirm is many of the Tim Hortons ones have been limited to much less than 50kW.

I pass through Ottawa on my way to Montreal from Toronto.
I usually like to pop in and visit friends before heading to Montreal

I was just going to write in this thread that I expect these will get iced. Although I was thinking more tonthe Christmas rush, but looks like it did not take as long as I would have thought.
To be fair, from the pictures I see no signs at all designating these spots as ev charging spaces, or a do not park here unless charging sign. Unless there are some out of the camera lens. If so, then to people driving these abominations, these would look like just another parking spot.

Yikes! That is some horrible ICEing. Need some signage for sure!

I had the same situation arise last night at Blue Mountain (Westin Trillium House). There are four Tesla destination chargers. When I arrived, 2 were taken with Teslas that were charging, and someone was in the middle of parking a giant gas guzzling SUV in the third spot. I never encountered anyone in the middle of ICEing before, so I did roll down my window and have a word. He quickly pointed out that “there are no signs saying I can’t park here” and “there’s another spot over there with a charger” (pointed to a Sun Country J1772). It appears he knew enough about electric cars to know he was ICEing, but not enough to really care. I managed to guilt him into moving (there were lots of other regular parking spots) but he WAS right - there were no signs saying he couldn’t ICE.

I went to the front desk and asked the manager to update the signage, because honestly, the guy looked pretty annoyed that I asked him to move and I’d rather not have to go through that sort of verbal exchange again!

Here’s hoping for Ottawa signage soon!
