I really don't expect Springfield for at least a year since they still have to build the Macadoodles to put them up on. If, however, they could get Joplin up, that would be preferrable, IMO. That would help the I-49 N/S corridor and would be close enough to Rolla (~178 miles) to make I-44 doable even without Springfield.
Okay, this is slightly off-topic, but I'm curious: Did Tesla intentionally make the "Top Heavy" icon on those shipping crates look like the Tesla logo, or is it a standard shipping thing?
I think you're right- the poles are for the enclosure for the Tesla equipment. That's the distribution center and the superchargers cabinets (I have also seen those referred to as inverter stacks). Each charger serves two charging stations. The utility installs the transformer, usually on a concrete pad or in a concrete vault, generally not too far from the enclosure. In at least one of your shots it looks like they have already poured concrete in the wooden forms for the enclosure pad, and I think I may be seeing the transformer pad to the left of that. The large poles are probably for the fenced area where the transformer, power mngt equip, etc, go.
Thanks for all the photos, guys! This one will have four superchargers powering 8 stalls. That seems to be the standard installation these days. The newest photos, from a higher angle, show that the pad for the Tesla equipment enclosure has yet to be poured- looks like it needs a gravel base first. The smaller concrete pad closer on the highway side of the enclosure is where the utility transformer will sit. great to see progress! I just wish the Springfield location wasn't having to be redeveloped first. But 44 is coming along at last! Makes me happy for selfish reasons.
Yep. Assuming there is one supercharger in each crate. So, there are two stalls per crate?
