EVgo chargers right next to where
‘I think’ the Tesla Superchargers will go. Pure speculation on my part at this point.
There are two islands for associated equipment … one island that leaves 16 charging stalls back to back from the island. The other, larger island would leave ‘room’ for 18 charging stalls back to back.
I’m guessing the 18 spot availability is where they will go because the extra two spots would be needed for the associate equipment and a transformer. These islands are in between Dollar Tree and Burger King. Photos. What say you?

BTW: none of the EVgo chargers are working at this time. The driver who was trying stated they were down across the state

I talked with a couple Tesla supercharger technicians today and asked them which of Phoenix’s many open permit sites will be started on next. One of them said that this Tempe site will likely be started next.

I talked with a couple Tesla supercharger technicians today and asked them which of Phoenix’s many open permit sites will be started on next. One of them said that this Tempe site will likely be started next.

Wow, this site is very far along. I can’t believe no one had posted about it yet. I guess I should have asked the Tesla techs which site is #2 and #3 too…
Definitely needs a construction cone!

Perhaps some of the others are further along too but now that urban Superchargers are becoming so common I suspect the thrill of checking new sites for progress isn’t what it used to be. I only wish more focus was being placed on the many empty, rural spots nationwide. Of course if I didn’t have a garage I’m sure I would welcome the current focus on urban saturation.

I did check out the I-17 permit location earlier this week. And I am planning to check out some of the SE valley locations next week, and hopefully the CyberTruck at Mesa SC! (It would be odd that Tesla is ONLY working on 1 supercharger in a given region.)

Judging by the pictures 2 days after your chat, it was started a while before. Sounds like they were typical Tesla, not telling you the whole story.

Well, the “started next” was my phrasing. The Tesla guy just said the Tempe / Elliot location was next. It was really loud there, so I probably did not catch the exact wording. And I never really expected a “permit” site in such a busy area would be that far along with none of us noticing!

Well, we’ve got to get out there from time to time and check for progress. 800 N 54th St Chandler AZ should be next = my guess!
The permit has been around for a while….
I checked the 8 others and there’s only a few ground markings…..

The transformer(s) is/are in place. Humming.
Fencing has been removed.
Asphalt slurried/striped.
One overhead double LED parking light out.
Great progress.

As you face the Large Walmart logo, it’s about 150 yards to your right, in front of Dollar Tree.
