nooo - dont start quoting facts or you will ruin all the lunatic speculation :)

next somebody will say random split of suspension joint boot lets grease out and joint inevitably corrodes. Driver doesnt notice until he unwisely drives his luxury sedan on uneven terrain contrary to guidance in Tesla documentation and the joint somewhat unsurprisingly separates. Driver then kicks up a stink as the vehicle is out of warranty and Tesla kindly offer part payment as goodwill (just as other manufacturers do) whilst requesting he doesn't blab about it as then everyone will expect goodwill gestures for every failure for ever which of course is unaffordable for any manufacturer. Driver for some bizarre reason then choses to make a big deal out of the issue with the NHTSA, and posts on the TMC forum without considering that a number of contributors have an IQ in triple digits and who are seriously versed in vehicles and Tesla in particular thus making a bit of a tit of himself. Driver of course realises all along that the Tesla he currently owns will likely be the last vehilce that Tesla will sell to him so best enjoy it really.

Sigh, except you missed the huge logical fallacy here: If Tesla created a car with a catastrophic defect, and you were in an accident, and Tesla came to you and said "shhh, sign this NDA, and we'll give you another death trap for free!" no sane person would sign the NDA, and instead just have their insurance pay them out and buy a safer car.

Duh.
That isn't what they would say.
How about: "Yeah, what happened here is a 1 in a million occurrence and we already made changes to make sure it is a 1 in a trillion issue! We had our best people working on it. Our. Best. People. But thanks for finding it!!! Sorry for the inconvenience, but to make sure that some evil shorts don't use this against us, which would result in setting back the EV market - and eventually killing polar bears, causing the destruction of the world, and making it hard for Tesla execs to cash in their stock options, would you please sign this "standard" little form? You can even keep the Tesla-logo'd pen!! "

And I would expect that most owners have the brain capacity to think for themselves.

Unneseccarily inflamitory, don't you think.

In the first link, NHTSA warned Tesla over reports of alleged reports that Tesla was using NDAs that required the owner to not contact NHTSA.
As Tesla has done no such thing, the warning is basically meaningless.
It would be like me warning you not to set off nuclear bombs.

Before you tell someone to "grow up", check your facts please.
The fact is NHTSA warned Tesla.

...Let the NTSHA finish their investigation...

According to Tesla's blog, the results are in and "...This can be confirmed with NHTSA...":

"Second, NHTSA has not opened any investigation nor has it even started a “preliminary evaluation,” which is the lowest form of formal investigatory work that it does. On April 20th, as part of what it has told us it considers “routine screening,” NHTSA informally asked us to provide information about our suspensions. On April 30th, we provided all relevant information to NHTSA. NHTSA has since told us that we have cooperated fully and that no further information is needed. Neither before nor after this information was provided has NHTSA identified any safety issue with Tesla’s suspensions..."

Funny!!

Did the Roadster buys have the brain capacity to think for themselves or did they actually believe what the company told them?

“This car, even though it met all regulatory requirements, it was completely unsafe, broke down all the time and really didn’t work,” Mr. Musk said.

Remember, this is coming from the company who claimed that "the word recall should be recalled" LOL.

Considering the other errors in that blog, I would take it with a grain of salt.

Second, you are wrong. This does not say their investigation is complete, only that that since April 30th when the information was requested they have not yet identified an issue. I don't know how long government investigations take, but I wouldn't be surprised that it takes more than 6 weeks.
