Taking Freeway Exits with Update 8.0 on AP

As of the currently released 8.0 build (2.36.108), the release notes do not mention either feature, so I'd say that these features are not yet implemented in any form. I would not trust the car to navigate an exit at this point until the release notes say it's supported.

Whilst I think your stance is very sensible, the Upgrading Autopilot: Seeing the World in Radar post on tesla.com, does include this:

• Will take highway exit if indicator on (8.0) or if nav system active (8.1). Available in the United States initially

It's perhaps more likely that people will have read this, or an article based on it, rather than the release notes?

It's a gimmick that's not ready to be rolled out to the public !!

Are you that clueless? I use autopilots in aircraft. I develop autopilots for very, very, very large ships. No one, using any of these systems, is not going to be paying attention. Why do you think it is different with a car?
