Tesla autopilot HW3

Not necessarily. Elon was asked on Twitter if his shoes were a "one more thing". His response "There was something, but no one caught it". I suspect he is referring to the HW3 chip/computer already being in production, and therefore his statement that "just software upgrades are needed" would stand true.

Did anyone see the person in the Y have their hands on the wheel when it drove out? It was easier to see on the other cars due to the amount of turning needed.

Plus, the Model Y is due Fall 2020 at the earliest so it will probably get the AP3 chip. So maybe in the context of the Model Y reveal, he was just saying that the Model Y with AP3 will only need software updates? Or maybe he was just making a general marketing boast like "ain't it great that our cars will get these cool features with just software updates

EM said the FSD should be feature complete by the end of this year.
EM said Model Y should start hitting the roads by fall next year.

So Model Y should already feature FSD "feature complete" when it's out of the production line, right? ;)

Yah, stupid iphone editing, that's my bad, the context was @diplomat33 claiming an email from support proves the hardware upgrades are "promised"

Tesla Support has NFC, they never have, and depending on who you talk to you'll always get a different answer.

Oh I have the thread context, but I don't know what you asked Support.
(It was just good natured hassling :p)

I sent an documented email with my claim to the original FSD features promised to me when I bought my car in 2016. Including all features and such with a nice time / date stamp seeking confirmation the obligations Tesla made to me in 2016 were still applicable to my car. Based, on that email. I just need to get to the SC and have them dump in HW3, LOL!

@Bigdog,....@diplomat33 is our new Mike83

I don't know who mike83 is but if you are suggesting that I am an overly enthusiastic Tesla fan, somebody's got to be. This forum would be way too depressing if it were just you old timers whining and complaining about Tesla's failed promises all the time. ;):p

Reality hurts, don't worry, give it a few months, you'll come to the light side, you just haven't seen enough missed expectations yet.

I'll need the name of that Service Center Specialist once and after your HW3 upgrade is complete. (don't want to interfere with having yours done first) I will plan a mini couple day vacation trip to visit your area and have it done.

There is a sign infront of the Gigling Marlin in Cabo. Something to the effect..if our establishment does not meet your high expectations...please lower your expectations.

In other words, many of the complaints are caused by overly optimistic expectations of what Tesla will roll out. If your expectations are out of line with reality, obviously you will be disappointed.

If you stand back a little, and take a look at what Tesla has achieved, the results have been remarkable.

Elon is also guilty of this high expectations thing. What he says represents his goals and aspirations. Often times the company is not able to reach his high expectations. Results are still fantastic.

Have you seen the prior posts and in other threads of what was committed to by Tesla. I only hold my expectations, as you call them, as to what Tesla literally sold me. Click on Model S and Read the FSD description on Tesla.com. Then compare to what I purchased. Notice anything I shouldn't be complaining about?

Are some of you guys not actually looking at what was sold and what IS being sold as FSD now?

I don't disagree with you at all, but I am curious why you elected to purchase FSD earlier this month?

Purchased it at $2,000 for my wife’s Model X while it was on a fire sale. Since it appears Tesla is moving EAP features to FSD I don’t want her car to miss out on future software updates. I certainly didn’t and wouldn’t have if it wasn’t 1/2 to 1/3 price depending on your particular order page. That’s why 9 months after my S with FSD at purchase I did not select FSD at purchase on the X. At that point it truly looked like AP1 deja vu.

Just for kicks, here is what I ordered in February 2017 as Enhanced Autopilot. Tell me how this compares to the description for FSD for new cars purchased today?

What is being sold as FSD today!!!

For one, you basically got everything in that EAP description. The only thing missing is the no confirmation auto lane change and summon from your garage (smart summon) which is expected to come out in the next upcoming updates. So you are getting everything you paid for!

Your post is misleading because you are only looking at features available NOW but conveniently forgetting the future features that are promised to FSD and not to EAP. In addition to those EAP features, FSD is also is promised traffic light and stop sign recognition and "automatic city driving" which are definitely not EAP promised features. So FSD is more than EAP. So the idea that FSD is just a repackaged EAP is kinda silly.

Did you forget to read the description of FSD three posts earlier as to what I purchased. Not what EAP in lieu of FSD was.

What you seem to be ignoring is that Tesla is systematically lowering the FSD description until they may no longer be liable for true FSD as I was sold . AP1 Dava Vu. I truly love your optimism but, again, some of us have been through this before.....honestly and truly I want this to all turn out the way is "should" but the bread crumbs being laid out are not looking good.

I guess I still don't see how Tesla is lowering the bar for FSD. They are promising "feature complete" FSD that after validation will be good enough that the driver will not need to pay attention. That's what Musk promised again just last night in the Model Y reveal. How is "feature complete" where you won't need to pay attention "lowering the bar" for FSD?
