Tesla model 3 In winter on the East Coast

Hello,
I am looking for Tesla owners that use their car for winter driving. I live in Newfoundland Canada and I really want to know if the Modwl 3 will withstand Newfoundland winters. Alight we don’t get a lot of extreme cold we can have a lot of snow and a lot of salt is used for twos clearing .
I am looking at the Model 3 Long range.
thanks

The latest M3 LR comes with heat pump and heated steering.

Still, your winter range could drop maybe 30-40% worst case. Dunno about Superchargers in NL. Could be an issue with with long Winter trips. And remember that range drops with age as well. Getting a LR is a good choice.

As for salt, NL can't be any worse than S. ONTARIO. It sucks but shouldn't be any worse than any other car? I hope...

Agreed on the PPF on the rockers. I have a RWD sr+ with nokian Hakka9 studded. It is amazing in the snow, and my other car is an X drive BMW…tesla juat as good in snow 99% of the time.

I would never rust proof as it clearly states it voids the warranty but I won’t get into an internet argument over it….lol

Not going to argue as you have a point. However what kind of guarantee Tesla gives on the rust anyway. Also, i remember Tesla added in the manual that everytime one drives on a road with snow, salt etc...one should wash the bottom on the car. I don't of anyone in Canada who would that since you would have to do it everyday 3 months in a row.
So if you have rust issue and they find out that you didn't take of the car as per the manuel...

I have an X, but I know several people here in Halifax that have driven 3s through a few winters now with no problems. Some use the PPF, some have the mud flaps.
I know one couple that have a 4WD Tucson, and in the winter they will fight over who gets to drive their RWD 3 because it handles better in snow and ice.

If you’re looking at a 3 for NFLD, I would recommend getting your hands on the chademo adapter. There are currently 12 out of 14 DCFCs (I think) on the Isle. I don’t know if Tesla has any plans to drop a SC there yet, although I figure they’ll set one up within a year or two.

I have a PPF company here in Montreal and am
a model 3 owner.

When I remove the cameras if you saw how thin and unprotected the wiring is you would be very wary of spraying undercoating. The petroleum will certainly wreak havoc with wires and plugs.

I rustproof all my other cars, but in reality it is normally doors and hoods that rust first and they are aluminum anyways.

10yr rust warranty is enough for me. If it starts to rust in 2032 I am OK with it LOL

I know you have a ppf company, i even recommended you, remember.

As for the rustproof, i had it done by bolduc, and he did a good job. It has to be done by someone who specialises in ev.
