Upon further inspection it was originally registered 11/24/2010. Guess it doesn't suggest eminent store or service center.

UT has very favorable banking regulations -- so it would make sense to register an entity in Utah if they were going to do some captive financing...

I'd say this is more likely how they'll eventually offer full on leasing, instead of the "loan with a residual" program they currently offer through US Bank and Wells Fargo. I'm guessing they got the entity set up, but decided not to capitalize it since they needed to focus on Model S production as well as X and GenIII development...
