I bet the event is much, much better in person than shown on the live stream. Rides, props, demos, etc that you can experience there, but not remotely.
It's not Tesla's fault people like us were projecting all our hopes and dreams onto that event

he said they hope to get to 100 (or was it a few hundred?) a week "soon" and 1000 a week next quarter. So I'm assuming they are not much higher than 100 a week right now, if that. Only 25 delivered today he said.
He said several hundred a week for the rest of this quarter, 1,000 a week for Q3
$130K for the fastest production car ever with latest Tech ... i know a lot of folks here really built this up as more than Plaid Delivery event in their minds ... but think back to MY reveal .... it was also pretty weak .... lets see how the sales of Plaid go...i know i want one
They need to take a cue from Apple and learn how to put on a show. Use Elon as an MC to hand off to different departments so they can really get into the details and relay just how much tech is behind the scenes. It's not that hard, watch any recent Apple event and copy some of the format. Whatever .... the good news is that the car seems like it's going to blow people away.

Yes, a live event was necessary and you’ll realize it over the next couple of days as people get a chance to experience the car tonight and share that experience. Because, you know, everybody drives a 1000hp, 0-60 in under 2s, family sedan with an onboard gaming center. Nothing amazing about any of that, never mind the new motor tech.

I'm very disappointed they showed the car playing the game but said literally nothing else. So is there going to be a Tesla Games Store or not? Are new owners going to playing games or is this an example of "Here's something cool but you can't do it yet"?
Just listened to it again, he said "several hundred", not one hundred.

this presentation managed to fail even the most modest expectations.
- zero mention of 4680, cybertruck, roadster, or any new product.
- 390 mile range for the Plaid is below the lowest expectations.
- elon was clearly seeing these slides for the first time, and was so awkward it was hard to watch.
overall, just a huge "why did they even bother?" from me.

Without anything being announced that we didn’t already know, the Plaid Model X at 10k less than the Plaid Model S seems like a screaming good deal. $30k difference between LR and Plaid X compared to a $50k spread for the S.
