Ok, I'm sure that very impressive fording capabilities will be present, but a truck that can literally be a boat? No no no, my mind is not ready to even try wrapping around that. No no no no no no.
I hope they say the truck can handle a few feet of water, instead of saying it can go underwater. Imagine thousands of Cybertrucks roaming around in deep lakes, that could be a liability issue in case something goes wrong.
Ugh I sure hope this thing is amphibious because that tweet by Elon just raised the hype bar. If there's a let down, it's on Elon now

So now profits from the Cybertruck are the primary determinant of whether TSLA is worth more or less than $355?
Nobody expects the Cybertruck to produce a profit *or* a loss within the next two years. Following the release is interesting to chart the growth of Tesla far into the future, not to determine *current* value.

Heck - why back your boat into the lake, when you can drive your truck into the lake, turn around in the lake, and leave the boat behind when you drive out.
That'd be pretty macho right?
Also pretty devastating to the lake flora and fauna I suppose

There was a mention that the cybrtrk could (woiuld) be used on Mars (on twitter) with pressurization, so maybe there are all ready air tight seals built in. And presumably larger tire/wheel combos, as i imagine Mars surface is not kind. Speculate away-- are you watching GM/Ford???!!!

No, because the next big battery breakthrough will be one of cost and ease of manufacture. This will make Tesla's insanely *profitable*, not insanely *cheap*. There is no reason to lower the price when you are production constrained. A cheaper battery will just generates bigger profits. They will still sell all the cars they can make unless they announce the battery lasts longer. But the current batteries are already lasting longer than an internal combustion engine/transmission so that's not where a breakthrough is most needed - it's in cost and ability to quickly ramp to huge volumes.

If true, a floating truck could be a real promotion for Tesla brand. Even if not many buy the floating variant of the truck, it will be a big pull. Just like the falcon wing in model X, it will be symbolic and historic.
