Well, just silently got my VIN 40xxx in MVPA appeared on account page. Still no info or ETA from advisor or delivery specialist.
MVPA list odometer reading 15 which quite strange, as many people mention it has 100 to cover car trips during delivery...

Also "Submit your payment" section appears, which probably indicate car is ready?

15 miles is a default entry. Mine said 15 miles but odometer on delivery was 4. Texas sales process is very different. Tesla can't "sell" a car here so your car will technically be an out-of-state sale but delivered to you in Texas. Tesla will want payment before they deliver.

OK, that was my thought that 15mi is a bogus number.
Started working on finance now. It looks like car will not be ready before mid-September, so I was not rushing to get approve.

For me, car was ready when I received the VIN. They wait for payment to start moving the car to Texas, though. What's your config?

I have the same build as you but I ordered on the 28th. Seems like Dallas Delivery Support Specialists are just sitting on their asses. Even the Model 3 spreadsheet is blank for Dallas orders.
Well, I'd not say in Houston it much better :)
Finally called me back and cool off me a bit - "we could not say at this moment that car are ready yet" and confuse me with the payment even more.
I was told car has to be paid full BEFORE delivery, now he told me I need do my downpayment so car would be loaded on rail car and once it "closer" final payment from bank should come...
OK, payed my portion, hope that will do speed up a delivery, but not sure...

Hey fellow Tesla owners.

I ordered my white LR MY late July and wrapped up all the finance logistics within a week. Got VIN email about early third week and delivery scheduled but got pushed couple of times now due to paint issues that are not up to standard. Needless to say I was not happy and voiced my frustration, local Tesla team issued me a loaner, red X for the time being until 8/26. Crossing fingers..

Having driven the X, I actually Ike the Y looks better.

Did you do financing for your car? I have a balance to pay and an expected balance from the lender I'm using (going with Alliant).

Yes I finance. And salesperson told me "do not rush with finance" while delivery specialist emailed very next day asking to finalize payments and have insurance effective immediately (even they do not have ETA when car would be delivered). Go figure who's right...

So here's the Texas information I got the day VIN was assigned:

Tesla Account:
  • Please log in to your Tesla account. Once logged in, click on the Manage button. This will walk you through the items that need to be completed.
  • Payment: Cash.
  • Vehicles must be paid in full before delivery. Payments cannot be made at the time of delivery.
Once you have completed all required elements on  your Tesla  account and  completed payment, we will begin moving  the vehicle to your closest delivery center.

Trade-in process:

  • Looks like we are just waiting for a final offer on your trade.
  • A trade packet will be sent to you, which requires SIGNATURES ONLY (do not date documents). We’ll enclose an overnight label for you to send the documents back to us.

Self- Registration:

The Purchase price of the Vehicle is indicated in your Vehicle Configuration. This purchase price does not include taxes and official, or government fees, which could amount up to 10% or more of the Vehicle purchase price. You are responsible to pay these taxes and fees at the time of registration.
  • Texas is a self- registering state. After you take delivery of your Tesla, you will receive a registration packet via FedEx. Once you receive your registration packet, you can take it to your county tax office to register your vehicle. At this time you will pay responsible for paying taxes and official, or government fees.

Insurance:

Please provide us a copy of your Texas Insurance Card showing the VIN of your new Tesla, with an immediate effective date, that does not expire for at least 60 days. This will allow us to have sufficient time to request and receive your temporary tags. Please see below as the DMV has specific guidelines:

  • Scanned or PDF copy of Tesla VIN-specific Texas Insurance ID Card (Cannot be a binder, certificate, or verification of proof of insurance)
  • Must show full VIN of new Tesla
  • Must have all registrants names
  • Must have policy number
  • Must show effective date and expiration date

I placed a MY order on 8/19. Super excited to get the car, it will be my first Tesla and my first EV. I am coming from a Dodge Ram 1500 so quite a large change! Couldn't be more exited

White/White MY 19" Wheels with FSD

Really hope I like the white interior and exterior. I test drove a Black MY with the White interior and liked how different the white interior looked from other cars. Was told to expect the car early to mid September by my advisor but I don't know how true that is. Got a really good trade-in offer from Carvana for the truck so going to start that process and hopefully don't have to go without a car for too long!

This wait is starting to become annoying, particularly when I see people that ordered after me in TX getting theirs. I already sold my car privately as I got WAY more than Tesla offered ($6k+), so I have a one car household, which is getting old....fast. I know that isn't Tesla's problem, but I sure would like to get a VIN and delivery date as the one month anniversary approaches on my order.
