Hey ZTrekus you even limped to a Tesla anonymous meeting in Gosford in your i3!

Yes right you are TesAus. And I often think back on that day and on how I want to do that day again but this time in the Tesla. Perhaps we should have another meeting. I believe you organised it last time. Wanna go again?

There is also Goulburn given the SuperChargers out that way.

personally I am going OS until the latter half of October... But more of the D thread will have their cars by then.

Anyone want to do the organising?

Gudday Ztrekus,

How do you find the I3? Still looking at an interim car for my wife. The leaf was the emotional favorite until we discovered you cant get the latest generation in Australia.

Do you have range extender in your vehicle? All this while we wait for Model 3.. I need 2 as soon as RHD is available.

Come on Gigafactory.......

Hi Keiron

The i3 is a marvelous car and I recommend it as much as the Tesla for a runaround second city car. Perfect for the wife. Only two seats in the back which means it fits my family except me. When I am involved we take the Tesla and the 5 of us fit comfortably.

but it is fast, zippy, great regen braking, very high tech, turns stacks of heads... In fact it was because I liked it so much that I bought a Tesla. Just wanted even more of a good thing.

yes I did get the REX but if I had my time again I wouldn't. Actually I have never ever used it and so every 3 months or so it runs maintenance on it by forcing it to runfor 10 mins. On those occassions when it wants to run, my wife has to make a concious effort not to charge the car that night because it won't run if the battery is too full.

Anyway, short of the model 3, the i3 is truly excellent and should not he underestimated. I would buy it again just for the wife if the unthinkable was to happen, so there, that's putting my money where my mouth is...sort of...but I mean it!

I was thinking we should do something in December to celebrate 1 year since Tesla launch in Aus, but maybe that will be too close to Christmas commitments for everyone? What do people think?

Another thought would be a trip up to the Blue Mountains, down to the sea cliff bridge (great photo op) or stick with what we know and head back to Gosford?

Sounds great TesAus. Looking forward to it.

Gudday Trav,
You can expect to be a joy ride specialist for at the least the next 3 months. I hate to think how many trips Ive done for about 1000 of my closest personal friends I never knew I had until I drove a TESLA. That and you're expected to know every spec, every comparative figure, all structural engineering detail, software functionality etc at day 1..... I am certain I could step in and SELL Model S easily.... Either way its AWESOME isn't it.:scared:

Congrats. Word of caution, the extreme expectation seems to have a detrimental effect on your driving ability, at least, it did to me. Landed up damaging my rear bumper bar on day one and damaging a tyre/ wheel within the first week. All settled down now, though.

Thanks for the experienced advice Dborn. A long 360 km trip home (after a stay at my daughters in Aspendale Gardens), I will need to take it steady.

Took delivery of my P85D yesterday.

Still in awe of that beautiful linear torque...

Question - how do I best remove that pesky energy consumption sticker on the windshield?

My only minor frustration is the lack of full RDIO integration from my pro account. Will just have to stick with bluetooth audio for that I guess

Either an old fashioned razor blade, and/ or that citrus oil spray for removing sticky residues De solv it is the brand, I believe, will remove the sticker. Or finger nails followed by the solution mentioned.

Congratulations Brester,

Very happy for you. You are gunna luv it!

Thanks ZTrekus.
Now preparations for the travel and pickup.
Did you use a checklist at all for your delivery?
I have a copy of the checklist developed by Nick Howe.

My electrician still hasn't installed my HPWC after constant reminders. At least I will have the mobile charger to get me by until then.
I'm getting my driveway hot-mixed with the prep being done last week, so that's to be scheduled soon as well. Hope it all falls in place as I will be in Melb. for a couple of days.
The car will be ready Wednesday afternoon all going well.

Yeah I read all that, and then decided to James Bond it... you know... just wing it and the instructions will come to you intuitively!

Actually I am sort of surprised that the car I got is in such perfect working order - there is not one darn single defect that I can possibly point to... I don't know, there is always something I thought. For example I had STACKS of trouble with my BMW i3. First of all I noticed that the glove box in one corner didn't close properly - but I decided to just wear it. BUT THEN the air bag light kept coming up and it took about half a year for BMW to actually fix it after I had brought it back about half a dozen times!

The Tesla that I have is so perfect. I am expecting a leak here or there or some door handle to not come out or the mirrors to stop folding or something. It is just so perfect!
