Third party charging in France

Hi all

Planning a two or three week holiday in France later this year. We'll be pretty rural, so not necessarily conveniently close to the nearest Supercharger.

Is there a decent equivalent to Zapmap for France and Europe, that shows the vast majority of third party charging facilities?

Try out Chargemap. I also have their RFID card for emergencies when remote.

If your hanging around in the North of France then check this website and App; Pass Pass - HDF


If you got a Chademo adapter then check out the Auchen Supermarkets as most of them have 24/7 free Type 2 and Chademo Rapids but you will need the KiWh RFID card; Kiwhi Pass for our foreign users - Easytrip

On some remote parts they sill have the Type 3C plug; Type 3 recharging cables - evChargeking

Not used it but Plugshare seems to cover Europe ..

PlugShare is not the best for France because it is user generated and mainly used by English speakers. The Chargemap app and map is much more comprehensive.

From what I've read, Chargemap may be sufficient, but it is hard to decipher the information. Please follow up with your experience after your trip. I'm heading to rural Brittany for a few weeks over Easter (and possibly a short visit in February) so would appreciate some reassurance.

Recently back from France. Bought a Chargemap card but didn’t need to use it. Got by on a combination of superchargers on the toll roads, overnight charging at hotels and granny charging (bought 2 pin adaptor from Tesla SC before going).

It looks similar to the length of the standard 13A 3-pin cable end.

Maybe your local SC can tell you how much they are?

don't remember as it was years ago when i ordered the KiWhi card
bear in mind that the Auchan chargers are all AC and Chademo

I don't have Chademo or CCS. It would only be for emergencies.
