The layout of hotel would be the same distance to the second floor sky bridge and onto the convention center. The question would be how much do you like to be at higher floor? Tower room are located at lower (12 floor and down) and view room are at higher floor.

Great, thanks for your reply. I had already booked a "tower" room. The difference having a "view" isn't that important to me. Not like I'm going to be in the room all that much. But now I'm glad I know the difference! Some hotels in Vegas have separate "tower" buildings and non-tower buildings, and some are closer to the conference center, so a lot less walking to get back to the room, if needed.

Doug,
Just a (late) suggestion, but can you print people's TMC handle in LARGE letters on the badges, and possibly even include their avatar?

One main reason I came to Connect 2015 was to meet some folks I had only corresponded with. I was largely unsuccesful as I kept peering nearsightedly at badges trying to find TMC identifiers.

I imagine you have enough to do in preparation but wanted to throw this out there in case it could be implemented easily. Thanks.

I'm thinking about where to stay Saturday night (after TMC Connect ends). Are you people likely to hang around the Reno area for socializing or head for Roseville (for those attending Bonnie's party the next day like myself)?

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Oliver

We're heading over to Roseville area late Saturday for a couple days. Will attend the picnic on Sunday then a Fremont factory tour on Monday.

We booked Thu, Fri, and Sat at the Atlantis in Reno. We're planning to have brunch at a casino restaurant (TBD) from 10:30a to 11:30a on Sunday, and corral the caravan group to head out to Bonnie's at noon (12p).

I am booked for TMC connect, Atlantis, GF party and Fremont factory tour. Whew! My Tesla meter goes to 11. Now if only I knew the Bonnie party secret handshake.

I wonder if the Atlantis would host a TMC connect poker tourney on Saturday? $500 entry fee! (completely serious btw)

There's a thread with the link to the party: Party at Picnic Creek - 2016 - Sunday, July 31st

Or you can just go straight to the event page and sign up there:
The Party at Picnic Creek 2016

I hope you make it!

My Tesla meter goes to an unprecedented 12.

GF grand opening
Party at Picnic Creek
Fremont factory tour

Serious question: So if I party all night sunday July 31, stay at the local hotel presumably, then I have to make a 3pm factory tour in Fremont the next day. Google maps says its only 2 hours away, but is this a realistic drive the morning of Monday Aug1? Or should I plan on starting at 4am? I have no feel for California travel times but I just hear horror stories.

That's great, same here except our meter is probably only at 11.5 since we will be hanging out in the GF parking lot hoping for +1s so we can actually get in! :) (we have 2 referrals, was hoping to reach 4 for the GF invite)

I'd keep an eye on traffic (www.sigalert.com), but considering it's midday, would leave around noon for Fremont. And that will likely get you there early. The closer you get to 3pm, the more roads will back up.

Since it seems there may be several folks staying in Reno to go to the Picnic Creek party on Sunday, I was thinking of going to the National Auto Museum on Saturday after the SC opening. See: National Automobile Museum

It's about a 3 mile/10 minute ride, easily Uberable.

If there's enough interest, I can start a new thread and even contact the museum to see if we can get a group rate or a special tour, etc.
