    Austin gigafactory party

Is this being discussed elsewhere? The date of the party is fast approaching, April 7 I believe. Has anyone gotten invites? I live in Austin and presume I would be top of the list for such invites.

Crazy how close this is to the other new one at the Target there. I love the clusters of chargers so you have options.

    Driver side door wont open

ok, an update. mobile techs came and they replaced both driver side and passenger side door latches and actuators. 3 hour job. They changed it to the new design. they doors actually function differently now (better).

    General Discussion: 2018 Investor Roundtable

Interesting. Still, doesn't actually change anything. The VIN guy adds to the TSLA database instead of a NHTSA database. Thought process would remain the same.

    General Discussion: 2018 Investor Roundtable

This is why I cannot believe this is "gaming". The Tesla VIN gaming department would know that they get max leverage with their pretending when there is a long time before the next report, so they can be the only signal and have greater weight. Putting out a "fake" block now just confirms they...

    Supercharger - Austin, TX

So it is sort of on. It is functional, but there was a worker there finishing up and was annoyed by me and the other X driver (probably lurking here) were hovering. he said it will be done when it shows up on your car nav, now buzz off :)

2017 Q3 ER- Predictions and thoughts

How are they a year behind? 5k/wk end of Q1 is a quarter behind. Or head of schedule by their original timetable, whichever you like.

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Yeah we are at the end of a Bear cycle. When it ends it tough to say exactly but its probably next week. Normally we enter the ER days down quite a bit, but the sentiment is so low right now we seem to be set up for a relief rally after the ER. BUT, we could have a big red day the day of ER...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Aaaaand Elon turns the market action thread into ad-hoc Dante analysis thread :) I BET he doesn't know all that. The common expression, in my experience, is you say you are in the 9th circle of hell, meaning the worst kind, even if that doesn't make sense based on the book. So he adjusts it...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Yeah, he needs to look up his Dante if he is going to do that. And aren't they concentric with 8th being the next-to-innermost?

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

$336 is as reasonable a level of support as any. Having said that, today was mostly the indexes dragging us down.

    2017 Investor Roundtable:General Discussion

This is why Tesla needs to quit selling and really be ZEV opec. Say very publicly they are $3k each or don't bother us. We would rather they sit useless than allow the buyers to pollute for cheap.

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Above 350 for sure. But, depends on how much the market gets tired. For this I assume that the M3 line is largely worked out mid-late Nov and Dec is pretty strong. Like a substantial percentage of their nameplate throughput. Scenario 1: Stock price has gone to 385 twice on the mere hint...

    TSLA Technical Analysis

Ugh. Supports broken everywhere. Lower lows than yesterday. Triangle looks done.:(
  24. austinEV

    TSLA Technical Analysis

Yeah I have seen people noting there is also a longer term ascending triangle June to Oct. Just an enthusiast with eyes that work. A triangle isn't magic, astrology. It means that the lows are getting higher. Traders are afraid of missing out on...something. The top sells off because there...

    TSLA Technical Analysis

I am going to get eye rolls in the general thread, but to my eye the triangle is still alive. I also suspect we/market just snap back tomorrow.

Just sayin'. If it closes higher than this, which it almost certainly will, it will still look ok. Note intraday trips below support:

Do. Not. Panic. This is going to be an intraday tail down.
  29. austinEV

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

This day still totally fits in the triangle. If we close above or in the vicinity of 363 its still on. Not really. A quirk of the calendar. They have been doing it on the first Wed of the second month for a few quarters now.
  30. austinEV

    TSLA Technical Analysis

Ok, ascending triangle fans: Does this mean, 1) Yay, breakout incoming tomorrow. We were above the buy area intraday and we see a 3 day move to the 375-385 area or 2) Hmm, we closed at 360, that important resistance point held so we just retreat back to the lower boundary of ~ 354. We...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Nasdaq is taking us down. Not TSLA related. 360 finish isn't a bad thing. Might even consolidate for a few days. compress that spring a little more. But, I expect we break out tomorrow.
  32. austinEV

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Yeah a close near 360 might be preferable. That way tomorrow or the next day it breaks out with authority. But I won't complain if it keeps legging up today.

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Well in defense of TA, the market can predict the future sometimes. So I look at TSLA on the daily and see an ascending triangle that wants to breakout above 360. When it does, it might well be that it was due to the NHTSA registrations going to 3000, or VIN 1100 or something. TA people will...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

That was my thought too. It is easy to only discuss the winners. Also, those who own a technique to get stock trades right 90% of the time don't need to sell their technique. Having said that, he might be smart and right a lot.

A company that is growing quickly absolutely must do this sort of culling. If a department hires 20 people, they do their very best to hire great people. But things don't always work out. 5 will work out to be superstars, 12 will be solid contributors and 3 will be hiring mistakes. Toxic...

(T)esla (I)n (M)ichigan. Its a clever move politically. I kinda also think they could do with a few more "car" people. We like to talk about the importance of software and stuff but my gut is that they could do with some more industry greybeards. Just a bit!

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

Yeah this is it. If you want to have a squeeze fantasy all the things would have to line up: 1) Its Q3 2018 ER. Model 3 has hit terminal volume, and the factory is running at peak efficiency pushing out 100k+ S/X and 400k (?) M3 runrates. 2) The GF is humming. They are making so many...

Yeah, you are describing a run to 200B which is a different beast and your description sounds good. I am addressing the "shoot up in 1 day" fantasy that makes the rounds. Squeeze and run are very different. A "squeeze" I sell. A run I hope to have the discipline to hold. I am long Tesla...

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

I am probably "whooshing" on a joke here, but. No. I mean in the scenario I am describing it "short squeezes" up to $1400 a share in 2017. That would be what you call in technical terms a *tad* overbought. I would happily sell, having more than enough for me and my family to retire in...
  47. austinEV

2017 Investor Roundtable: TSLA Market Action

That would be awesome, please, please let TSLA do that. But, I would sell every share and buy puts. So would three quarters of the members here. They may have a 200B market cap in 15 years and that price will seem like a reasonable thing, but it would be too hasty for 2017. That's also the...
