It appears the ad's description has been changed to remove the "story"... hmmmm. Can't blame the seller for trying to make the most of it but come on now.

And I've just now noticed that this is the same guy who purchased VIN 1297 from MotorGroup (FL), originally listed for $69,800. It was then upgraded with CHAdeMO and listed for $89,500. Looks like the same "unexpected financial situation" is listed here. Original post here.

I agree, @Roadster. Not too much shame in flipping a car, which happens all the time, but dishonesty turns me away as a buyer. Not to mention, stripping the vehicle of its hard top AND charging cables. Is he expecting to sell it without any charging abilities?!

I also don't think TMC is the place to advertise such practices. I'd like to think of this forum as a community where we should be helping and informing each other of the Roadster as a family - not for personal gain.

Mr. Taras had two roadsters. The purported auction is for the original one that almost went off a cliff long long ago.
It was totalled many years back, and auctioned off then. Did someone fix it up then total it again? Or has it just languished in a scrap yard for years?
Here was an old photo from many years ago when it was first totaled:

Same damaged front right wheel. In the newer photo, it looks like someone just pulled the damaged plastic bits off and is auctioning the carcass again?

Hopefully there isn't some insurance fraud or phony auction listing going on. It is weird that this car has supposedly resurfaced again all these years later.


As far as I know, the newer one with CHAdeMO is still going, and was NOT wrecked.
I think Ian sold it... Tony Williams had it for a while... Maybe he bought it.

That's beautiful. Also visibly has the Xenon Headlamp Retrofit, upon examination. Nice!

EDIT - also...the dealer site says it's VIN 832. Understandable typo, @Roadster.

That is my all-time favorite interior. I hope to find an Electric Blue with it someday...but for now, shoutout to @Hall-Morin for stealing my dream car before I was ready to switch.
