All,
I live in SB and can check out the car if anyone is interested. I just passed by this place yesterday, but did not look at the lot. I'll try and swing by in the next week or so just to see it anyway.

RNM at $73,500
Sold for $85,600 - not bad! This was basically a low-milage glider, right?

Needed new ESS and had some door sill oxidation from nearby gold cart fire (or something)...
Tales of two roadsters: collector vs driver.

George Foreman’s bricked roadster, vin 151, sold higher than the low mileage bricked 2.0 roadster sport, vin 668, which sold for $79,800 (bid + fees) on BaT at the high of the market.

I think this validates that collectors are still interested in bidding up the ultra low mileage, special badged editions, or a car with a story.

I’ve listed my 1.5 Thunder Grey Roadster on Bring A Trailer. Not really “orphaned”, still loved, but hope she goes to a good home. PM me with any Q’s.

VIN 453 was the first Roadster I had the pleasure of seeing up close when I met with Rob back in February 2017 so this is a sad 🥺 moment for me – though I'm selfishly hoping she stays in SoCal🤞

Rob was also the first to enlighten me about Musk's Master Plan (part 1 part 2 part 3) which ultimately convinced me to buy the Roadster as it was clearly destined to be an important piece of automotive mankind's history.

So, while I'm bummed to see her go, I hope the car fetches top 💰and the new owner should take heart knowing it's been lovingly cared for by a trustworthy steward. Some addl. photos below to help stoke the bids. Note: JdeMO pictured has since been removed.

Safe travels "Roxie" and GLWS @RobsJester!

It seems odd to me that a 5-year old Roadster would have needed to have an R80 pack installed. Maybe someone just had money to burn and wanted the extra range, but that car didn't have many miles on its when the battery was changed out. Mine (90K+ presently) was driven a lot from 2011 until 2020 when a battery cell failed, and up until then it maintained its range better than originally projected and I would have only done a swap at the 10-year mark when my pre-purchased-first replacement-battery contract said I had to exercise the option by had that cell not prevented the battery from charging. There must be story behind this.

From reviewing the records and listing, I think the owner wanted everything perfect for their car(s). The HID headlights and R80 upgrade were requested and not done as a result of problems. Annual PMs, TPMS, brake and coolant flash were all done timely regardless of miles driven. Along with all new tires, they even removed the old PPF and XPEL the whole car before listing it.
A true car collector perfectionist!

That makes sense. I got all the upgrades, so I understand that desire. But unfortunately, if he jumped for the R80 right when it came out (and he didn't need it), in retrospect he didn't get the better battery that later purchasers got given the more rapid aging of the first batch. I do love that the car is in such nice shape. I am having to put mine through another winter unexpectedly (last couple years I have been trying to use a different car), but at least it still runs well at 90K miles.
