TPMS Sensor Install on Winter Wheels

I am going to install winter wheels on my model Y. After mounting the new wheels with the TPMS sensors how do you get the car to recognize the new setup

Go to the service menu and select your new tire/wheel setup. The TPMS will calibrate when you start driving.

They get connected automatically. The first 5 mins during calibration, the numbers jump around from wheel to wheel. I guess the system try to figure out the correct location of each sensor.

When I received the sensors from SC, SA told me the sensors have to be manually connected from tire stores during installation. The truth is NOT.

I went to the local garage and had them install the winter tires on new wheels with oem sensors I bought at Tesla. Just drive the car and they automatically install themselves. Gotta love technology.

I have my winter wheels with TPMS stacked in the corner of my garage, 20 inches away from my front bumper. Will this cause any issues?

The TPMS sensor will be in deep sleep unless triggered by movement, as a way to conserve its battery as much as possible.
