I wonder if they didn't delay building some P85D's for international orders during the seat problems and have no put them back into the production schedule and that caused some shifting. I know that some European P85D orders have shown starts here recently.
This makes sense. During December, they appear to have built more regular customer ordered S85 when the P85D Recaro seat issue was happening to somewhat catch up with backorders. In the last couple days of December, some Norway buyers reported production start - those could have started a few days earlier but I'm sure California-bound P85D were the goals of that week at the factory. From reading your spreadsheet and the P85D tracking one, I have to think almost all cars now are being newly-ordered as D models. Unless I lived in a warm climate with no chance of snow, I might be inclined to go 'D' by default, even without knowing how well the new software was going to extend the range. I have to wonder what the percent of new RWD non-P orders are (perhaps generally limited to MS60?) Will Tesla continue with RWD loaner cars and then sell at discount each quarter? Will they use D loaners? The D-demographic is interesting.
