Very tersely put.

My P85D just changed status to
Production Complete
Your Model S is being prepared for pickup or delivery.
YAY!

Nice!
FIngers crossed it doesn't slip back into production :)
Sorry, couldn't resist. I think the yoyo production has passed now (at least for the P85Ds). You only have a (relatively) short delivery journey now too. Soon you will have your P85D but we will miss your lively activity on TMC when you are too busy driving to post anymore.

Status Change!

After weeks of refreshing on the Tesla site (and lurking on this board), pleased to share...

My P85D status just changed to: In Production

DS says: March 19. Interface says: Late March.

If you figure 7-10 days for production and 5-7 to ship to NJ, March 19 seems possible?

751** | Blue Metallic | Pano Roof | NextGen | Tech | Suspension | Weather | Rear Facing Seats
Ordered: Jan 29. Confirmed: Feb. 2.

We've seen some shockingly long ship times to Chicago area. It certainly should be possible to get it to NJ in 7 days, but I wouldn't bet on it.

You and me both :)

I'm waiting to hear from my DES. He has not overly impressed me so far :crying:
I'll try to stay active here... way too much interesting stuff going on. The 6.2 firmware that Jerome and Elon have been teasing about... I'm sure they'll find new creative ways to keep us entertained :)

Yeah, so two weeks to Chicago. That's why I was wondering about 7 days to NJ.
I think a lot depends on how long it has to wait in Freemont for other cars going to the same end rail hub. If it misses one Autorack it could have to wait a week or two for another to fill up. It also could be the last one and roll out of the factory and right on to a train.
I'd guess Tesla are not paying for direct service so then there's the whole North Platte rail yard re-combine operation that can eat up time.

So I got this email today:

"Just a reminder that we are getting close to your Model S becoming available for pick up.

I expect that your car will be ready in the last week of this month. Please let me know if you have any plans that could take away your availability.

I will be in contact as your car comes to the final stages of production, so that we can lock down a final delivery appointment."

The website still days that my Model S is waiting in the production queue like it has since I confirmed my order. Is it possible that the website just hasn't updated?

It doesn't take them that long to make the car and you being in California it doesn't take long to transport it to the service center (if you're not taking a factory delivery). So I know it seems like there hasn't been a lot of movement on your order but it will move rather suddenly when it gets close.

That's awesome. So the website is probably correct. The delivery specialist is probably anticipating that my car will hit production within a week so that it can be delivered within the next 2-3 weeks.
Thanks!

Interesting, I ordered my P85D on Feb 9, 2015 and remains in queue for production. Looks like my car won't make it for late March Delivery. :-(

Unless things have slowed down a lot since December (I have not kept up to date on the timing of things) I'd say it's a couple of weeks early for you to be saying that. Tesla can build a P85D in four or five days, and then I think they can get it to Calgary in about seven.

I certainly would not give up hope for a late March delivery yet.

Sweeet.. that does put a smile on my face! Thanks. Can't wait. Does anyone know if the software update as been done so the P85D can access even more power and lower the 0-60 time. At one point i was told it could go as low as 2.80... which would be sweet.

On another topic, I am shopping for a set of 20 or 21inch rims. I would really like to know, perhaps see what people think looks good on a TESLA model S.
thanks

The web site claims that if you order a P85D today they will deliver it by late March :)

Tesla is VERY motivated to deliver their most expensive cars before the end of a quarter. They want deliveries, gross margin, profit, etc. to report for Q1.
