Model S Plaid
Looks great. Now, quick - get that wrapped with Xpel or something!
I will be parting with it this week for exactly that!

Congrats on the car and the color. Always sucks to give the car up so quickly but worth it I believe.I will be parting with it this week for exactly that!
Great looking car! Congratulations. I would have loved to have a copper or burnt orange color. Toying with the idea of doing it as a wrap since I should get some kind of film for protection anyway. Please let me explain about the custom color.
My P85D just changed status toProduction CompleteYAY!
Your Model S is being prepared for pickup or delivery.
We've seen some shockingly long ship times to Chicago area. It certainly should be possible to get it to NJ in 7 days, but I wouldn't bet on it.If you figure 7-10 days for production and 5-7 to ship to NJ, March 19 seems possible?
You and me bothFIngers crossed it doesn't slip back into production
I'm waiting to hear from my DES. He has not overly impressed me so far :crying:You only have a (relatively) short delivery journey now too. Soon you will have your P85D but we will miss your lively activity on TMC when you are too busy driving to post anymore.
Yeah, so two weeks to Chicago. That's why I was wondering about 7 days to NJ.Mine (and presumably OConnerStP) entered production on 2/9, finished a week later, and arrived in the Chicago rail yard today. Should be in Minneapolis later this week pending weather.
I think a lot depends on how long it has to wait in Freemont for other cars going to the same end rail hub. If it misses one Autorack it could have to wait a week or two for another to fill up. It also could be the last one and roll out of the factory and right on to a train.Yeah, so two weeks to Chicago. That's why I was wondering about 7 days to NJ.
So I got this email today:
"Just a reminder that we are getting close to your Model S becoming available for pick up.
I expect that your car will be ready in the last week of this month. Please let me know if you have any plans that could take away your availability.
I will be in contact as your car comes to the final stages of production, so that we can lock down a final delivery appointment."
The website still days that my Model S is waiting in the production queue like it has since I confirmed my order. Is it possible that the website just hasn't updated?
It doesn't take them that long to make the car and you being in California it doesn't take long to transport it to the service center (if you're not taking a factory delivery). So I know it seems like there hasn't been a lot of movement on your order but it will move rather suddenly when it gets close.
Interesting, I ordered my P85D on Feb 9, 2015 and remains in queue for production. Looks like my car won't make it for late March Delivery. :-(
Took 9 business days (they work a 6 day week) to build mine.Tesla can build a P85D in four or five days.
Unless things have slowed down a lot since December (I have not kept up to date on the timing of things) I'd say it's a couple of weeks early for you to be saying that. Tesla can build a P85D in four or five days, and then I think they can get it to Calgary in about seven.
I certainly would not give up hope for a late March delivery yet.
