Tracking P85D delivery thread

In my case, I ordered a loaded P85D on Oct 10, re-confirmed on Oct 24, entered production Nov 25, production complete Dec 12. My DS says it is on the truck and will arrive tomorrow Dec 18, for pickup on Dec 19. Of course I did not get my next gen seats as they will have to be installed later. Hope this helps. I will post when I have my car.

For delivery in Europe it seems that the bottle neck is Holland where all cars are shipped to. It also seems that the cars a waiting there for a month or two before they are transported to the destination. I have asked if I could pick up my P85D in Holland, but was not permitted to do so. Has any of you guys from Europe tried the same ?
I have a "March" delivery date.

Tesla has some strange rules for delivery in different country that you are from. I tried to pick up my car in Vienna (Austria) which is only 350 km from Bielsko-Biala (Poland) where I live. They said I cannot pick up my car from Vienna because of "TAX" problems. They made me to make order from Tilburg (Holland) - 1200km from my place. For me it's kind of b***t because inside EU delivery there are the same rules for TAX and VAT...

Has anyone actually been delivered other than the guy in Malibu? Has anyone received the next gen seats?
There are 2 people with deliveries from this forum, 1 from the Teslamotors official forum, and one which has been talked about in various news articles as the "first delivery" who is not a member of either forum.

There are likely other deliveries that have been made to others not from this forum, and a few that are on the spreadsheet as happening later on today for forum members.

Nobody has received the new seats yet in their delivery on either forum.

12/12/14 it went into production and now it's completed today! Somehow I don't see them getting the car from the West Coast to the East Coast in one day to meet their original delivery date of the 18th. Still no phone call or email from my DS about picking it up or about the seats. Stay tuned.

Where are you taking delivery, Mt. Kisco? Mine was completed on Monday the 15th but my delivery for Saturday the 20th was cancelled. No new date scheduled yet.

Spoke to my DS and got some more details about delivery. He has been great btw.
  • This may be common knowledge, but he said the status on My Tesla won't update again to "On a Truck" or similar... so I can stop refreshing now.
  • Once he gets the shipping manifest, he will call the truck driver directly and see how many stops are required, which will dictate transit time to NC. Best case scenario, the entire truck is loaded for Raleigh, and he thinks this may be so due to the number of vehicles they have outstanding.
  • The answer to that question will determine when we can schedule delivery.
  • I am getting standard seats all around, to be replaced when NextGen are available. Unlike LetsGoFast I didn't luck out and get NextGen in the front. :crying:

Does anyone know how long a Pearl White paint job should take in the paint shop I am assuming that since it is a MC paint, it requires a cure time between coats, wouldn't they just bake it? I am 40 hours out from entering production, and I am in the paint shop. Since that is one of the first steps, it seems longer than I would have expected. Wondering if I have been pulled aside for rework. Any data points out there (other than the Black-Hole-ers)?

I wouldn't focus to much on that. My DS told me that I was still in paint 2 weeks into my production (see the black hole thread). I don't think the actual assembly steps are updated automatically at the factory.

Well I am picking up my Black-Hole P85D this Saturday at 2 in Costa Mesa... I was in talks of re-ordering and just waiting till February but I caved like a little boy and now super excited. So all in all 25 days from start of production to delivery at a location 6 hours away from the Fremont factory.

Technical Support Model S Specialist contacted me this morning and notified me that our vin 66240 is ready for shipment. She asked me for approval to ship without next gen seats with a seat swap after the first of the year. She is releasing the car for shipment. I will update the spreadsheet when My Tesla is updated.
