I run a small internet radio station that is carried on Tunein Radio, and I was trying to set it as a favorite in my 70D. Because we don't have huge numbers, we're not listed when you browse for stations, but we are available if you search. Sadly, there is no search functionality for Tunein in the Tesla.

No problem, I thought, I'll just log in with my Tunein credentials that I use on my desktop and on my phone and all will be great...But the car doesn't recognize my login!

I tried this for the first time the day I got the car, and even rebooted the screens. I let it sit for a week or so and just tried again and it's still denying my credentials. Anybody else have this happen to them? Is this something I would contact Tesla or Tunein about?

Its happened to me too. Last week, I decided to setup a TuneIn account so I could use it with the car. After getting the account registered, I went to input the credentials on the car. It rejected them every time I tried.

So while I have no idea what's broken, I'll add a "me too" on the issue.

Same situation here. I changed my password on my account, no good, opened a new account under new email, no good. Just going to use without login I guess.

The TuneIn functionality needs work. It really should handle search and I too cannot log in.

Same here, new 85D in Switzerland. Called Tesla support, they opened a ticket and will hopefully get back to me soon.

This worked fine in the P85 I had before, no issues at all.

I sent a bug report using the voice recognition feature with the screen up on my touchscreen and then also emailed servicehelpna...I think that's the right email address to use now that ownership is gone. I don't think this is urgent enough to call Roadside Assistance, and I can't find any other way to reach them to report the bug.

(Edit) They actually just replied. This is a known issue that they are currently working on, so hopefully in one of the incremental 6.2 releases it'll be fixed.

Tesla support called me back yesterday, and they confirmed it's a bug. They will fix it ASAP in one of the next versions of the firmware. I was quite impressed by the quick reply, only two days after I called them!

Sometimes I wish I could work for Tesla so I can create in-car apps for it. I have a free app called Songbot in the Apple App Store that lets you search by radio station or by song/artist name. It indexes all the currently playing songs on the internet and AM/FM radio, and lets you search on that index. It's a search engine like Google but for radio stations. And there's no subscription fees.

Thanks everyone for highlighting this. I recently logged out of my tune in account (on my car of course) and then couldn't log back in. Gave up after a few tries wondering if I was wrong about the password. Good to know this isn't just me losing my memory.

I reported this to Tunein several days ago, so they are aware of the bug also. I also let them know that a search function is desperately needed.

Dammit! Add me to the "me too" list.

Mine had been working fine, but I made a few changes to my folder contents on the web and some, but not all of the changes made it over to the car's interface. Fine, I thought. I'll just log out, then log back in. Nope! I even set up a new password and tried re-booting the 17" screen but still no go.

I wish I'd read this thread first and just left well enough alone in the car!

Okay, so here's what I discovered: After multiple failed attempts at logging in, I actually went to the Tunein app and guess what? I am logged in! My folders and everything are showing up. What the heck? I go back to the login screen on the settings menu and it is still showing me logged out with the error about my credentials. So I guess it is passing the information through to Tunein but it just isn't being recognized by the page on the settings screen. Or something like that!

Without knowing exactly how it works under the hood, I'm guessing there's something wrong in the authentication process. If it's OAuth, then the client key or secret that Tesla uses might be invalidated, but already existing auth tokens would still be recognized.

In non-programmer terms, if you're already logged in, you're fine, they let you in the door. if you're trying to log in, Tunein wouldn't know who Tesla is, because the Tesla they're looking for is white, and the Tesla that escorted you to the door is red, so they turn you away.
