Feel really bad writing this given the unexplainable length of time some people have been waiting for cars but...

Ordered 21st Feb, VIN appeared in source code at weekend, just received pick up text. Collecting from Belfast 16/3.

Just over 3 weeks from order to collection.

M3/LR/Blue/Black/Aeros.

Original delivery was August, then moved to May/June. Now it's next week.

Now I'm excited :)

I need to complete the online form for my M3 order but unsure what if anything to put in the yellow highlighted box. My company names is already in the blue box.
The car is being purchased by my business and myself and wife who are directors will be the only ones driving it.

Do I put my name in the box or not and are there any advantages / disadvantages of doing so around ownership, tax etc?

If I recall from a previous post - unless you put your name in the yellow box the V5 will come with the company name (Blue Box) as the owner/keeper . It might simplify your insurance etc. to put your name in the yellow box as the registered keeper and then simply get the insurance in your name rather than the company name.

I've been wondering this a few times. I've had a few conversations on chat regarding financing with my bank - and each time the person at the other end seems to be unaware of the existence of a bank named 'Halifax' 😂
It was so funny when I tried to go onto chat, (bypassed the zip code with a Disney world hotel zip code), but then they stated that Chat option was only for US, and the UK didn't have one.

If you try to book an event with an expired event (e.g. Test drive model Y at Trafford Centre) it will allow you to schedule a Teams meeting with a Tesla sales advisor.... but if you have already ordered your car, they will not be able to answer any logistical questions (e.g. when will I get my Reg Plate)

Don't feel bad! That's great news and will maybe provide hope for some others.

Anyone managed to get insurance before collection day? We are collecting our model Y in a few weeks time, but we are worried that if we try to get insurance on the day it will cost a lot more than if we try to get it before we collect.

Problem is insurance will need the Reg/license plate.....
Also looking into GAP insurance.

I just contacted my current provider (Churchill) and got a quote from them. Was only an extra £8 a month!

You can get quotes on comparison sites without reg no, you just put make/model in. According to MSE 23 days before start/renewal date is best time to do it. MSE suggests going through several comparison sites and then Direct Line. I found my M3 rather expensive to insure compared to my BMW 5 series.

Sorry ! Thought it was a given everyone snooped at the code lol 😆

In short... You can snoop at the source code to see if you have invisibly been matched with a car. You get to it via your order page. I right click away from an image, and select : View page source.

Classicly we know that Chinese / Shanghai Gigafactory Teslas end up with LRWxxxxxxxxx as a VIN number.

So before Tesla tell you anything, and long before any text / phone calls come your way, doing a text search for LRW in the source code sort of grants you extra ordinary 'clairvoyance' long long before Tesla updates you. Once the VIN appears in your source code, that's it! You know you have a car for sure, and it's likely on a boat. It then becomes a another obsession to try to calculate what boat your car may be on, but at least you know your car is matched, which is 85% of the anguish... and is another reason I limit myself to once a week.. Otherwise I'll just become a fanatical lunatic refreshing and snooping at source code every hour until such unknown point in some future when it may one day just appear 😆😁😄😅😂🤣🥰

Not at all 🥰 - That's fantastic news, what a turn around! 9 days to go! Never gets old to check out pics of lucky new owners picking up their car.. It keeps us going! :D Would love to see pics when you do 🍾

Removed hold two weeks ago, picking up next week now after originally saying "May-June". Ordered in November.

Silly question but.....how and when does the pay link appear? I picked my date and time for pickup but nothing else showing. I'm in the US still so the app and order page are super janky, constantly switches back to the US site and gets horribly confused. Wanted to make sure I shouldn't be paying yet and the cross border stuff is breaking it.

EDIT: MY, MSM, black interior & Inductions.

I'm same. Chose pickup time earlier, but nothing has changed on Tesla Account with regard to payment.

So a quick story for those in a similar situation with delays…

Ordered LR White/White/Aeros early Feb and was given March delivery time frame. Within a few days the timing moved out to May/June. Ringing CS achieved nothing. Last week my dates slipped to June/July. Called CS again and once again, nothing they could do.

Today I visited my local Tesla dealer to check out diffent colour combos and see if a VIN could be allocated on a potentially different spec if available.

In summary he located a few cars that were not yet showing on new inventory page, one of them matched my RN spec. He then allocated to my RN and my delivery is now 10-17th March.

Just thought this could be useful to others in a similar position.

There’s a RWD red/ white/Aeros still available.

There was also a RWD white/black interior/Aeros that has already gone.

Thanks very much. I've been lurking, but have been reading your updates. You're incredibly patient and gracious! Maybe we should gather a crowd on ur pickup day and escort you there in convoy!

Full explanation for my searching, gladly not now an issue.

1. Google chrome on laptop/PC

2. Open you account page at Tesla.com

3. In Dashboard click "manage" next to the icon of your car

4. Move pointer to open space on page and press "Ctrl + U" to bring up your source page

5. Move pointer to open space and press "Ctrl + F", this opens the search bar.

6. Type "LRW" into the search bar, it will indicate if there are any hits. If it says 0/0, try later.

7. Get extremely frustrated for a few days/weeks/months until you find you VIN😂🤣

It may be different on other browsers, and there may be shortcuts, but this is what I did until the magical LRW3F7FS3NC499*** appeared!

That's impressive! Great work. I ordered the exact same spec on the 2nd of Feb and mine went from March to 22nd-31st March...then I joined the SVC when it jumped to May/June.

As I'm already an existing M3 owner i'm not too fussed about the delay, but it would be nice to see the deal over the line sooner rather than later.
