unacceptable safety issue

Because orthopedic surgeons are experts ocar safety? Or because it requires a surgeon to diagnose that the seatbelt isn't properly attached?

I am an engineer and um I know more than the rest of you um um.....oh forget it. The self important job title one upmanship does not seem to work with the great unwashed here;). Yeah, I include some of my background and current projects in my posts....so guilty. But it's trivia and the valuable stuff is "what should happen next?" which so many provide here thankfully.

1. I don't see any of the "trolling" that another -----with the I am better than the other posters tenor--- decried. IMHO I see people here giving their opinion on reaction versus overreaction (not something I want in my Orthopedic Surgeon). And this is just my opinion...no troll! Admittedly if MY grandson were to discover the fault, I too would be emotional (even NOT being an Orthopedic Surgeon). So it is NOT a 5* safety rating problem (yet?). That sentence, as others have pointed out, tainted the OP. There WAS a lot of good advice HERE in this thread concerning how reporting and following this is properly done. For me, that's why I come here and I learn a lot from all of you who DO "pump the brakes" and present thoughtful processes to either fix a problem on the spot (many great solutions I have put into place immediately over the years on my two Model S autos) or in other cases put actions in place to determine whether we have an endemic "recall" level situation or not. As others pointed out Tesla has been on the side of jumping on even a single occurrence to be overly cautious and very customer friendly to facilitate "checking".

2. Possibly off subject but coincidentally (and some what ironic) in my current business consulting position I am working with Neurosurgeons / Orthopedic Surgeons locally who are VERY upset about all being labeled as "unsafe" by many because of a highly publicized local facility managed by a major corporation that demanded a number of legal (or not) arguably defective and unsafe practices. Such as piling on tests to increase revenue (proven and documented), "overlay" surgeries (overlapping where surgeon literally "runs" between op rooms simultaneously in full real time function) which, over time creates fantastic profits and.....unfortunately higher percentage of problems (clots, the ever popular "leaving unwanted materials" in the patients, etc). There is much concern about tainting all local such specialists. Not exactly the same but important to take proper steps to determine when do we have an endemic problem or a smaller problem that still needs appropriate attention (not pulling a 5* rating for all cars or surgeons!;))

Ok. We should not go overboard when we see a defect in our Tesla, but rather work with the company (or National Safety Board if motivated). Having owned two Model S Tesla autos starting in 2012 and trading in for my current new one, I have found a few "defects" and my service center went on a dead run to do (IMHO) appropriate levels of investigation, notification and results reporting. I love these people. Not a "fanboy" (hate that troll label). Rather I am a very demanding customer who consistently is surprised on my "expectations exceeded". End of rant:rolleyes:
