Based on ev-cpo website, it looks like the number of used Tesla in inventory is dwindling slowly. We used to see big spikes in inventory post quarter end, but not this time. Are they sending all their trade in directly to auction?

I can say that looking for a MS 75/75D the Tesla website in my area went from having 8-10 of combined 75's to just one. Not sure if that has to do with Tesla sending the cars to auction or Tesla stopping the 75 production.

Just curious as to how stopping 75 production would impact number of used 75s available? I get the other connection.

I'm not saying this is true but maybe people considering a 75 now have no choice other than spending an extra $20-$30k or go down to M3. If they want a MS and can't afford the sticker of the 100 then a pre owned 75 make complete sense. A nice low mileage MS still carries a 4yr/50k mile warranty and is at least $30k of the S 100. So its possible the used market will pick up moving forward.

I think it's the transition period. I have requested photos to a few cars the last week, and they are in very high resolution, and all cars had been detailed properly. They still did not fix the scratches though. Looks like all been done professionally, thus delay to bring them on line.

I think they were keeping the best ones for sale, and more damaged ones went to auction. I saw many auctions ones that had pretty large dents or scratches when I started looking about 2 months ago.. Supply of used coming in might also be slowing down after the rush for tax credit for upgraders. Seems like tesla is getting ready to roll out the short range 3, which would be less likely for "upgrading" and likely these will be new owners to Tesla. I would not be shocked to see used prices stabilize a little now.

Better Tesla Used process would be nice for shoppers.
