I’m on my way to pick up today. Immediately after pick up I’ll be taking it to RDI Detailing in Richmond to have PPF and ceramic done.

I’m guessing that if I have any paint issues it might be smarter to have RDI Detailing take care of them. I figure they are detailing paint every day as part of their primary business. They might be likely to do a better job than someone who is trying to push out 100+ cars a day and doing only the paint work that really needs to be done.

It's my delivery day as well. It's been a long 6 weeks. Can't wait. Hope the car is clean and defect free.

One more thing, while I was waiting for the "reverse" process, Tesla offered the couple next to me the option to check the car under sun light. They will drive the car outside instead of the underground parking garage. If you didn't bring a flood light, definitely request that.

Yep I trust them when they told me “everything can be reversed”. It can, except whatever BCAA might charge to cancel insurance. Technically another lie.

And because my brother referred me, we now have to argue to get 7500km SC bonus for both of us when the next M3 arrive.

I am going to email the Delivery Specialist and see if they will replace/repaint the rear bumper. If so, I will still buy the same M3.

Unlucky indeed, bythe way the VIN ends with 903 for those that might have a friend picking one up.
Keep us posted if you managed to get that 7500 km. In same situation

sound logic to me! let us know how it goes!

how many days will they take to do the work?

My delivery date is tomorrow and I've yet to have any contact from Tesla. My contract hasn't been uploaded and my financing down payment has turned to 0 for some reason. Tesla is also not taking calls for Canadian delivery. Anyone have any idea how to get in contact with someone? Hopefully I am contacted today sometime.

I was never able to reach them by phone. They contacted me at 6pm yesterday for my delivery this am with amount due and payment details:
You are picking up your car at:
1636 W 4th Ave, Vancouver, BC V6J 1L9
Payment:
  • $66,332.00 total downpayment - $3200 deposit - $5000 CEV rebate - $5000 iZEV rebate = $53,132.00 due at signing
  • Payment by bank draft only, made out to: Tesla Motors Canada ULC
  • Bring a personal void cheque for financing payments
  • Please note by accepting any incentives, your Model 3 becomes ineligible for the Tesla return policy
Trade-in: None
Registration and Insurance: There will be ICBC agents onsite at time of delivery
Delivery Day: The delivery process takes around 2 hours but due to high volumes there may be additional delays
  • Check in with a Tesla Specialist when you arrive
  • Paperwork 5-10 mins
  • Insurance 20-45 mins (depending on your questions and complexity)
  • Vehicle Handover 5 mins (please review videos ahead of time to familiarize yourself with your new Tesla)

(...) Another thing I noticed was that my rear doors don't pop out enough to unlatch when the door button is pressed from the inside. I have to press the button again and push the door out simultaneously in order to open the door.

This happened with all doors on the one we test drove. The Tesla rep mentioned it's normal and yeah, you just have to push out as your push the button. I'm used to the concept from my last car's trunk, but now that it's brought up again the Model 3 we actually got doesn't have this issue with the rear, but does with the front. Hmm.

Those times are actually about right FWIW, there's just additional periods of waiting in between and before steps.

Does the following work?
- Order 3-4 M3
- Arrival same day probably
- Pick one out of the four that's in best condition
- Reject delivery for the other 3

Hah! I wish they'd all arrive the same day because that's actually a clever idea, if inconvenient for the local team. But it's very unlikely they'd all end up arriving together, but perhaps a few days apart.

Technically it would work, however, you may increase the waiting time for other ppl. Tesla may ban you if they found you doing that on purpose. You don’t want to void your warranty, right? Anyway, I don’t like that idea.

Might text contact at the detailer pics of any damage to make sure they are comfortable with the damage. Would be a bad day to have to change plans once you take delivery and the detailer can’t fix the issues identified.

Buying a car feels like any other online shopping right? Just the amount is higher.
"You don’t want to void your warranty, right?"...... really? I wonder how much more TSLA will drop if rejecting cars = voided warranty.

Lol, my fronts are fine... Doesn't seem quite right if press the button and it opens but stays latched.

I hope it doesn’t work. Creating operational difficulties for any retailer results in increased costs for other consumers.

In any case, I don’t think it would work, unless you were willing to risk the incentive money. An individual is only permitted one incentive per calendar year. I’m guessing Tesla would require you to identify which vehicle will be the vehicle fir which you use the incentive money.

After reading stories here and elsewhere I was prepared for a horror story today. It was the opposite. It’s difficult to think how Tesla could have done a better job, especially given the volume of deliveries today. (Another 100+ day.)

My appointment was for noon. I was up at 4:00 am to catch a 6:30 am ferry. I took the bus/SkyTrain/bus and got to Tesla about 9:35 am.

By the time the doors opened at 9:55 there were about 10 buyers lined up.

I checked in. They said I could come back later or do the paperwork then. The paperwork with Tesla took about 20 minutes. I was finished with the insurance guy by 10:40.

My ICBC/BCAA worked seamlessly today.

I did my paperwork with Tesla.

The ICBC person came over. He saw the BCAA quote sheet that I already had out. He observed that I would be using BCAA for optional.

I did the ICBC basic with him. He printed it.

I used a PDF scanner app on my iPad to get a copy of the ICBC paperwork.

I phoned my person at BCAA and emailed the ICBC document to her.

Twenty minutes later she emailed to me and the ICBC guy my BCAA optional insurance document.

My insurance was all in place before the car was at Tesla.

I went for a walk and got a sandwich. I was back at Tesla at noon. My car for there about 1:15 p.m.

I examined it. It was spotless.

I was out of Tesla by 1:45 p.m.

I drove to RDI Detailing in Richmond. Roman examined the car. He couldn’t find any problems with it.

I’m now on the bus/SkyTrain/bus from Richmond to Horseshoe Bay for the ferry to Departure Bay and back home.

I’ll be back next Friday to pick up my car from RDI and take it home.

Glad it went well. My experience was quite similar, and was overall happy with how Vancouver handled delivery.

See you around at the Nanaimo supercharger I’m sure ;)

We read the stories of people who have unpleasant experiences. I thought it was important to provide some balance by reporting a very good experience.

My home charger should arrive next week, although I still need to schedule installation. I’m hoping I will be able to reduce my reliance on the Nanaimo SuperCharger, but with the amount of driving I do between Cowichan and Comox Valley/ Campbell River I’m guessing I’ll use up my 7,500 km of charging before they expire.
