I’m picking up Monday as well and disappointed to hear it will be outdoors. The only salvation is that Tesla has been very good at addressing any issues.

I hope so. The tail light for sure will be replaced as that is an obvious defect with it being sealed inside.

My car that I’m picking up on Monday is also white. Would you mind sharing photos of your defects so I know what to watch out for?

I shared one about the tail light in an earlier post. I'm hesitant to post any more until I hear back from them. knowlan's suggestion is great to follow a checklist.

That is supper unfortunate. I was going in with a mindset that there would be a lot of problems and turned out there were only two small things in which Tesla has already scheduled me in service with rental vehicle. The surprising thing was they contacted me first as I had not had the time to call in yet.

What were the small things you had on your car? That's awesome they contacted you about it without you spotting it. They never mentioned anything wrong with the car to me, I would like to think it wasn't intentional and that they just missed it all together. For me it was "here's your car, we'll have someone put on the rear plates and you go on your way, enjoy your car".

Cananyone who picked up recently or is scheduled for next week shed some light on when the final contract docs and concrete numbers (rather than "estimated") for balance due are visible? I'm picking up Monday, and the balance due according to the ISA and Tesla Finance is slightly lower than what the DA at the Powell Service Centre indicated. Because it's a bank draft, the numbers can't really be changed on the spot. And I'm trying to avoid messing things up by having the wrong (even if higher) number.

I noticed 2 days before the pick up that my account was updated with the MVPA, in there will be your final numbers and same paper you sign when picking up.

I had a small chip on the rear bumper and the passenger door needed a little more force to close properly compared to the other 3. Oh they did not say my car had any issues as well but I pointed those out and my delivery person said she will make note and send it to their office. I was then contacted from them 2 days later.

Did they remedy the small chip at the spot or they are offering to repaint the bumper? My friend picked up his Model X last week and they just used touch up paint to cover the small chip.

Not sure. Scheduled me to drop off the car in a few weeks and booked a rental for me. I am assuming they are going to look at whole bumper.

It is so small and it is right on the edge of the bumper line.

So latest update for me... On Friday August 31st I received an email from a sales specialist in Toronto stating that my delivery in Vancouver would happen within the next 5 to 20 business days. He provided me a VIN of 108XXX. On Wednesday he checked my vehicle location and said it should be arriving on Thursday Sept 6 and that I would be notified when it arrives.

On Thursday he emailed me and set a date for Sept 22 at the Powell St address. If the vehicle was set to arrive yesterday why would they schedule my delivery so far out? I emailed him back just to confirm my vehicle arrived on time and haven't heard back from him. I'm guessing he's looking into it.

Is anyone driving to the Powell St address location today? If so, can you take pictures of all the cars in the lot? I'd go but I just sold my car (thinking I'd be picking up the tesla yesterday)

I would call the West 4th location for deliveries and figure out what’s going on. I did that just this morning and they changed my delivery time (I noticed the Tesla website was different from the original date that was on the email so I called).

My adviser did that to me as well. They book the spot far out to ensure that you have at least a pick up date even if the car gets delayed. They are assuming that the car won't be delayed more than a couple weeks. The local adviser called me day after that she saw the car is in transit and rescheduled me to an earlier date.

Well that's good news. Yea the advisor said;

"tentative appointment for delivery on September 22nd @ 11:am @1712 Powell Street. This can change if the vehicle arrives sooner and a member from our delivery team will reach out 24-48 hours before delivery to go over what you will need to bring"

So maybe I'll get lucky and that'll happen to me too

If your car arrived yesterday (originally told), then you could give a call to the local adviser today and get them to check if it has yet.

Finally got the call!

Delivery tentatively scheduled for Sept 15th @ Powell. Red, AWD non-P, Aero wheels, EAP

Can anyone speak towards financing? Eg. Final price, taxes, and finance terms/rate? It looks quite bugged on the website.. Isn't luxury car tax in BC 10% GST + PST (Which is 5% of GST) at my configuration's price point (78K)? What is this $100.00 federal A/C tax?

Is there a chance I can still get the EV incentive? I hear it gets applied at delivery?...

I'm not sure if I should confirm these terms online because the numbers are totally out of wack (to me.. it seems)?

Hey guys picking up from the powell st address... can you take photos of the entire lot please

When I first go there ~11:30am there was no P3D in sight, but when I returned to pick up my car after lunch ~1pm there were 3 (!) silver P3D on the lot (pic #1, 2, 3) with the first P3D in Vancouver being delivered (pic #1)!

So the car I picked up today wasn't so dirty that I've to wash it right away. It's gonna rain the next few days anyway. They've some guy wiping dusts from all the cars constantly.

When you walk on their lot towards the building's entrance, someone will greet you and confirm your appointment on his/her iPad, who will then ask you to go inside to wait for your orientation. It looked to me the greeter is also the person who add/activate your car onto your Tesla account -- meaning from that point on, you'll see your car in the Tesla app and be able to flash its lights to find which one in the lot is yours. Instead of waiting for the orientation, you can start inspecting your car!

I got one large chip on the edge of one of the doors. Asked them to put a coat of touch-up paint on it for now and will return for another coat. And the driver's door looks slightly misaligned; will see what they can do on my next service visit, but not a deal breaker. My white bumper paint looks reasonably matching to the body.

One of the silver P3Ds I saw had a major headlight-body-bumper alignment issue though. Mine's fine in that area.

Front license plate bracket was installed in the middle by eye-balling from the frunk Tesla logo. Result was good enough, I'm not gonna measure it!

Inside of the car was clean, but the shinny black centre console was dusty and has scratches already. Orientation did NOT include going through all the settings, did NOT include how to adjust mirrors, and did NOT include pairing your phone to the car as phone key. You'll have to do it yourself, so learn how to do those before going. Red toy Model 3 was in the console.

Car was charged to 440km range on delivery; that's about 85% I guess? Odometer on mine was 10km.

Their on-site ICBC agent is able to do any ICBC transaction you ask. I was able to transfer my old plate # to the new car (I bought along the old plates).

ICBC rates is high (you already know that). New car replacement option is an extra $800+ a year (I'm at max discount)!

Feel free to ask anything I haven't covered!

Thanks for the writeup, m3snowy! This helps me know what to expect when I pick up my car in a few weeks. As for insurance, I am going through BCAA for all of the optional insurance (including replacement coverage). They are WAY cheaper than ICBC rates.

Can I go there earlier to inspect my car? My appointment is 7:30pm and that lot is outdoors with no lighting. I won’t be able to check for defects, esp if the car is wet. Isn’t this delivery experience kind of ridiculous?

What optional coverage are you referring to?

Is replacement insurance really worth it?
So - by law you need a minimum of "basic third party liability" through ICBC. From their website: "Third Party Liability coverage protects you when you're at fault in a crash and another motorist makes a claim against you. Your Basic Autoplan covers up to $200,000 of their injury costs and vehicle damage." Everything else is optional, but highly recommended. This includes things like extended third party liability, collision, comprehensive, and replacement insurance.

As an example of how the rates compare between ICBC and BCAA, here are some actual quotes I got (this is with CRS level -20, which is the maximum discount):

Basic third party liability: $745

ICBC Autoplan Broker
Extended third party liability ($3m): $166
Collision (rate group 27, $500 deductible): $651
Comprehensive (rate group 27, $300 deductible): $332
Total Optional Insurance: $1,149
Other fees (license, registration, etc): $79
TOTAL: $1,973

BCAA
Extended third party liability ($3m): $126
Collision ($500 deductible): $277
Comprehensive ($300 deductible): $233
BCAA membership (if not already a member): $80
Discounts (anti-theft, multi-vehicle, BCAA member, etc): -$153
Total Optional Insurance: $563
Other fees (license, registration, etc): $79
TOTAL: $1,387

Then there is replacement insurance, which basically covers the gap of depreciation if you get in an accident and write off your car. So if you get in an accident when your car is 3 years old, you will get a new 2021 Tesla Model 3 instead of a $50k payout (or whatever a 2018 model is worth in 3 years). My autoplan brokers weren't even offering it for me (or I didn't ask, because I didn't know about it) but BCAA quoted it as $153 per year for "Replacement Cost Plus".

All in all, comparing apples to apples - BCAA is $586 cheaper than ICBC, plus has some additional benefits like one accident forgiveness, etc. I highly recommend talking to someone from BCAA for more information if you're interested - I learned a lot from them (I'm switching my other vehicle over to BCAA).

Took delivery today and pretty much same experience as M3Snowy. Truck alignment was slightly off and very small chip on the bumper. They don’t walk you through on how to set up the car, but if you ask them they walk you through throughly. They are saying they will be delivering 1000 cars this month and they will deliver until 10pm if have to.

How can you inspect your car in pitch black at 10pm?
