Reddit says it's rolling out starting tonight.

To be clear: the current releases aren't to beta testers. They're under an NDA.

It's currently at "release candidate" stage with limited release.

Not sure if all Model 3 though.

According to my wifi router log, my car downloaded over 3GB worth of data during Sep 28 - 29.
and still no prompt for update as of today Oct 1 at 11pm.

Turns out the Model X owner was a beta tester. And the guy on Reddit who I linked to has now apologized for spreading unsupported information. He got the same info from 2 separate Tesla employees but it was bad info apparently. It is not as widespread of a release as expected.

You can force your ModelX to install version 9 yourself

Mine is installing tonight (Model X, AP2.5).

Installed 9. So far my Web page for Waze no longer loads and web browser stays with a black screen, No front camera, Garage door opener stopped working and will not reprogram. Auto driver front door no longer opens or closes. Can't stop the Navigation screen from dominating the top half of the screen.
Other than that, so far, fine.

Rear HVAC in manual mode does not sync temp with the front temp. This is different than my recollection of version 8 where the temps would sync by default but you specify a different rear temp.
Temps do sync when rear HVAC is in auto mode, I just don’t use that mode very often because mostly the third row seats are folded down and the dog is in the back.
