VIN assigned, but EDD 2 months out?

I was signed a VIN with an EDD in 2-3 months. That’s weird, right? I’ve bought 2 MY’s and when the VIN is assigned, the car is ready within days. What’s going on? Any idea?

I ordered a MXLR in early November 2022. My EDD was March-May 2023.

Today I got a text that a VIN has been assigned. xxxxxF371755 But the EDD is February 27-April 24.

Is this a rejected MX?

I got my first Tesla VIN 3 months before the car was delivered. I assume they assign a VIN when they put it in the production queue for the quarter.

Curios, indeed. When I got my Model 3 and Model Y I got the vin assigned with less than a month to EDD. But as I learned, Tesla is not your typical car company and works very different. I’m sure those months will turn to weeks and or days. Congrats

Just got my VIN F38xxxx, with a new EDD of Jan 25 - Feb 3. As of yesterday my EDD was Jan 9-25, so I’m hopeful that the new EDD means I’ll soon - after 13 months - be in my new X. Man, I sure am looking forward to this! Only bummer is that every time I have to update my trade-in info, the amount Tesla offers keeps on going down, down, down.
