Do you know when the last "refresh" was? And why people are speculating now? This has been discussed recently here: Buy new or used MX
To put it short, if you need a car now, get a CPO, otherwise wait because delivery times are long anyways so might as well wait and if there is no refresh buy a fresh CPO/Inventory later.
If there's no refresh by the end of year, the chance of an imminent refresh would be even much greater!Latest real refresh was when Model X came out, small updates to fix its kinks have come up later. Speculation happens because of many reasons, basically it's inevitable. If there is no refresh by the end of the year, you can order a MB or Audi for half the price.
We expect Model S and Model X gross margins to increase in 2018 with improved trim mix and option content, lower cost of acquisition and lower manufacturing costs.
Thus nothing major hinted at if I’m reading that correctly.Actually, a minor refresh seems to have been hinted at in the Q4 newsletter - I just now noticed this:
Translation: we're going to offer some tempting new optional extras this year.
They never announced major changes beforehand. That includes the S refresh, AP1/AP2 hardware, etc.Why do you think there is a refresh coming in June? Nothing's announced, unless I missed it. Buy now, I'd say....either ways you won't get it until late March or April

I know that's what I'm worried about! getting a car a few months earlier than some major change like 2x battery life or something. The only kicker is that if I wait I'll be without a car for a few months and have to figure something out there. They never announced major changes beforehand. It depend entirely on what the trim and particularly options are. For example, maybe their chemistry advances will let them introduce a 115kW pack. That would be pretty major. Maybe there will be an even-higher-performance version. Maybe it's some neato accessory. We just don't know what they mean yet.
But if you mean "complete architecture restructuring", no, that's clearly not referring to such a thing.
I already have one ordered that's being completed Feb 26th of this month then being shipped to NJ after it's done. I say June because that's when they have their big shareholders meeting and usually announce new products for the year.
I hear you. In the same boat. Let's see what March brings Ofcourse, won't be fun if they DO introduce major changes later but then I feel Model 3 is getting most love /attention right now...
Do they usually introduce changes in March?
Ohh wow..so hypothetically it could be whenever. No, AP was changed in Oct/Nov, 90kwh battery was Aug, 100kwh battery was I think announced Oct and I recall MS facelift was in the summer.
