What is Tesla's current range of motors?

I believe there are just 2 different motor combinations. The larger (original) motor (the 300+ hp variants) and the new smaller one (the 188-221 HP varients) which may have 2 different gearboxes for the front or rear applications. The differences in HP for the large or small motor is nothing more than differences in the inverter, or maybe as simple as how they are programmed.

So if there are only the two motors then

The 470 hp motor only provides 363hp in the S85
The 221hp motor is derated by 10hp on the S85D to 211hp (really? - I'm thinking a spelling mistake here and really it is 221 not 211 - or vice versa of course)
and in the S70D the two 221hp motors are derated to 165hp each?

Of course the inverters and battery pack also have a role
but the P86D/S85S and S85 all have the same pack, so same voltage

The reduction from 221hp to 165hp in the S70D could indicatethat the S70 battery pack is indeed a lower voltage
 
These days I suspect there are only two motors: the big one and the small one. The HP variances in both motors are due to software and/or battery voltage. Somebody should do a teardown and see if there's really a difference between the 363hp and 470hp motors. :)

Tesla / Toyota RAV4
115 kW (154 hp), with peak torque in normal mode of 296 N·m (220 ft·lb / peak torque in sport mode of 370 N·m (270 ft·lb).


Tesla / Mercedes A & B class
100 kW (134 hp) 310 N·m (229 lb·ft)
 
Tesla's German site would seem to indicate that there are four motor capacities currently being produced: 224 PS (221 HP), 261 PS (257 HP), 385 PS (380 HP), and 476 PS (469 HP).

The breakdown looks like this:
  • 224 PS: front motor on the P85D
  • 261 PS: all motors on the 70D and 85D
  • 385 PS: motor on the S85
  • 476 PS: rear motor on the P85D
