Wheel alignment

Yeah, it seems Tesla quotes double from what I would expect. Maybe they just do t want that business? I will cancel the appt. and shop around.

This is my suspicion, they’re so busy that they don’t want to do alignments

Seriously, to repeat, there's nothing special about aligning a MY, and I think we're ALL better off finding a legit indie alignment shop to work with.

I'd rather Tesla put their manpower into Quality Control.

Based on info in this forum, I had Firestone do an alignment job today. $199 for “lifetime” alignments. The shop said they see lots of Teslas now.

Update: my car is still vibrating above 65mph so I suspect I need a wheel balance. Scheduled for tomorrow.

Damn Inductions: so easy to curb, resulting in cosmetic damage and wheel balancing issues.

Curbing them won't affect balance normally. Did you hit them hard enough to bend the wheel?

This was a rub going at 1-2mph, so hard to believe it would have bent them…

Update: after wheel balance (mucho weights added to every wheel!) the car is now smooth at all speeds.

Firestone near my house did a great job for $65 (balance) + $20 (rotation) + $199 (lifetime alignment).

Picked up my MYLR on 9-27. Wheel was off to the right a few degrees.
Had an alignment at Firestone and with the wheel straight total toe was out of spec.
They adjusted the tie-rods and everything is perfect. Car drives just a bit smoother now and the wheel is straight.
So technically the alignment was good and it drove straight but there is no excuse for the wheel being off center on a new car.

Yeah my steering wheel was crooked for a few months but I didn’t mind it (could rest a hand on a wheel spoke to keep Autopilot happy!). Fixed now when I did the alignment & balance to get rid of a vibration that cropped up after 13K miles.

The Firestone near my house said they would mount tires if I brought them the "pucks" so they could raise the car. I bought a 4 pack from Amazon for $19. Now I need a shop that will do an alignment on my M3. I'm in Goodyear, AZ.
