If you’re lucky. If they’re busy (e.g. boat landed end of quarter rush) you might get it on the day. I spent 30 mins on the phone to LV in the showroom updating my quote.
Me too, I got mine on the 19th and collected 20th. My insurance quote changed by £50, I think the nearer to the actual date you want the insurance to start the more it costs, when I looked at prices 2 months ago it was cheaper.
Sort the insurance in advance of getting the reg number (ie get a quote, may need to phone if online doesn't do unknown reg) to get better price then finalise it when you get the reg number.
I'm in the minority. Got mine on Monday completely out of the blue. Rang for an update completely expecting a rough date of mid March, to be told the afternoon of this Friday. Was given a reg too, so a good 4 days ahead of pickup. Typically it's less than 24 hours.
I phoned and got mine 2 days before pickup. Insurance quote had gone a little past the 30 days it is valid for so they had to update the quote. My data had not changed but quote went up by over £200 based on insurance companies updated data on risks.
