When & Where? Your Model 3 In-Store Reservation Plans..

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
There have been a couple other threads polling people as for how you intend to reserve your Model 3, or whether you plan on sleeping outside a Tesla store on March 30, but now that we have more official info on the schedule for Tesla stores on March 31, I thought it might be nice (and helpful) if everyone could share their current plans for lining up to place a deposit in-store on March 31.

Simply put, what time will you be queuing up at your local Tesla store, and which store will you be visiting?

I'm still unsure as to when I should show up, or if I should at all. I imagine there are many others in this community like me who could use an opportunity to gauge their own ideas/plans against others. Maybe people near each other can team up too. We're all friends here.

I'm planning on going to the Old Town Pasadena store on the 31st, right after I drop off the kids from school, hopefully making it to the store around 8:30am. Obviously I'll do a fly-by the night before to make sure there's not a Black Friday line building in which case, I'll roll the dice with the online reservation.

In short: PTADO - Old Town Pasadena - 8:30am - with bells on.

Montreal Store.

The event matches up with my week off so the gf and I will get there in the morning or early afternoon on the 30th. Tesla store employees have confirmed they expect hundreds of people and there will only be 5 employees working. They've even asked Tesla to send reinforcements but the request was declined. As such, I want to be at the front of the line to avoid the chaos which will ensue....

Here in Calgary, Alberta... I think I'll just come slightly before opening. We have the only Tesla store in Alberta at the moment. Word is the Tesla store management has been talking to the mall management regarding possible line-up scenario.

Plan is to get up 5am and head into Bellevue Square in WA when the doors open with credit card in hand. As I understand the mall opens at 6-7am for the exercise walkers who hit the mall floor early and the store will be 10am. I asked the folks at the store how they plan to handle line management. They indicated the logistics are still a work in progress. The mall galleries seem to the ideal location as one doesn't have to camp outside in the cold. I will be at the mall when it doors open.

Plan on a fully loaded, big battery and dual motor so early reservation will make a difference. P will depended on the uplift in cost. Targeting $50-60k out the door price when order time comes. Hoping for the full $7500 tax credit but not banking on it for the purchase.

Either Annapolis, Bethesda (suburb of DC) or Tysons (VA suburb of DC). The first two are listed as galleries still (not "Stores") but I hear on Reddit they are taking reservations.

I plan on getting there before open (so 9:30 or 6:30) since the first two are malls and who knows what order they open the door in. Then wait at the store/kiosk until 1pm.

Reddit link? I was going to give Tysons a swing by or ask them if they're going to take deposits later next week...

Yeah, I plan on getting to my store at about 8:30am or thereabouts. Not doing the overnight thing. I remember camping out for a PS3 and I can tell you sleeping on a flatbed cart is not comfortable and cold.

Also, definitely bringing an extra cell battery in case the line is long...:)

Vancouver, BC
Will be getting off work at 2am and heading straight to the store to line up. Gotta buy a cheap lawn chair and sleeping bag this weekend.
A product specialist said that one guy said he'd be waiting there as of the 29th - not sure if I buy that...

I am fortunate that Cesar Chavez Day here in California falls on the 31st and I have the day off. Sweet! So, you can find me at the Santana Row store in San Jose. Being in the heart of Silicon Valley, I suspect it will generate more traffic than most Tesla stores, so I will arrive early. I don't plan on spending the night, but I will arrive an hour prior to opening. I am shooting for a fully loaded performance model. I wonder if that version will even be available when it comes time to configure.

Side note:

I was going to get a BMW M4 to replace my 335is, but it is time to transition. Yesterday I sat in the cockpit of an M4 on the lot of Stevens Creek BMW yesterday while waiting for new tires to be installed on my car. I had my sales person fire it up. In the past that cold start roar was magic to my ears. Now? I feel slightly embarrassed when it comes to life! How is that for weaning myself from the ICE age? :)
