Will $250 order fee transfer if I cancel an order and place a new order?

If I placed an order but wanted to change the color, what would be the best way to do that? Wait for there to be a delivery specialist assigned and then ask them and risk the price going up or just placing a new order while the price is still the same and cancel the old order?

Wondering the same. Placed an order yesterday but I’m sure I’ll second-guess it in the next few days. I believe you can work with an SA to get this transferred but am eager to hear from someone that has experience with this.

I just don't want to wait and risk the price going up. I posted this in the wrong forum. It should be the X forum. I'll report my post and see if a mod can move it although the answer may apply to any model. That said, it may be different for the 3 as:
says you can edit the design after placing the order.

It's likely that the volume of 3 production allows a lot more leeway for last minute changes given it's easier to play Tetris matching with customers and ordered configs.

Should still be able to modify your order unless you completed your finance options at the end without contacting an SA. But, confirming you WILL NOT lose your $250 deposit. I changed from a M3LR over to a M3P and my deposit transferred over.

Right, I'm just trying to figure out if I go and place an all new order if when I cancel the previous order if they'll refund the $250 so that I don't end up paying twice. I suspect I can just wait for a DSA assignment and then ask for the color change but then I risk the product pricing going up in that time as well.

So the ONLY thing you want to do is change the color? Have you already finalized your financing? If not, you should see an option to change/modify your order. If you have finalized you can try replying to the text you may have received from Tesla when you ordered, or you may have to try reaching out to them via chat if available today. I don't know that I would try to create a new order.

If you cancel the order your $250 is gone. They won't refund it.

Why don't you just edit the order?

Yup, in the link I posted for the 3, such an option exists, but it doesn't for the X. There's no edit design option anywhere in the manage section for the order.
