Will after market mats be necessary or will the Tesla mats be up to snuff?

Here's a picture showing the fit of the passenger mat. I think the Lloyd's fits better than Tesla's.

The Lloyd's mats include some hooks that you can screw in to the car's carpeting to hold their mats in place.

Just got an e-mail from corporate saying: "Proper floor mats are coming in a month or two. Joost got great carpets specced out that are heavy weight with the Tesla logos for frunk, front, rear, and trunk
carpets. The included are temporary until then and will replaced at no cost. We also have a weather guard floor mats almost ready, waiting for the last revision and you'll be able to purchase them online"

That's very good news. I just wish we got it before I sunk cash into the Lloyd's mats. Oh well, I'll have a nice spare set.:)

Um. Yeah.

My delivery specialist told me the only thing missing from my order was my HPC adapter. If they're going to ship us more stuff because they couldn't get it all together on time, that's great, but please tell us before we waste time and money fixing it.

I also bought and started cutting material for a frunk mat. I guess that money and effort is wasted too.

Thanks. I was just getting ready to order something.

Does the stuffed ladybug come with it?

Interesting. On my iMac they look very blue. Proof that the representation of colors on computer screens cannot be trusted for accuracy.

Wow, I have the same issue on my Mac. For the longest time, until seeing the trunk pictures, I truly believed they were blue!

Monitor calibrated properly?

Just heard from the Lloyd's mat dealer. The can't embroider the Tesla logo on the Luxe mats -- too thick they say. But now that Tesla says it will be supplying high quality mats with the logo, perhaps we have a better solution.

You never know.

Lloyd's may still be (much) better.

Very good news to hear. Glad they are addressing this.

Maybe it is just I, but I suppose one has to be a real afficianado to care significantly about floor mats. Dust bunnies would annoy me, but I really would not feel compelled to buy Tesla branded floor mats since my dirty shoes will be all over them. If the ones coming with the Model S are really "that bad," I'll probably go with some simple ones from Lloyds. Additionally, I'll probably get some for winter as well, but I've done this with other cars so I consider it an independent purchase.

Oh boy, we had better start the nickel-and-diming thread again immediately...before Tesla is even allowed to formally announce their plans for floor mats!

Can't imaging this would be any fun if we waited for pricing!

Ok, my rep got back to me with the final word....and it's not good news. The mats that the car is coming with now are the "free" mats that everyone will get. Tesla will offer logo'd plush mats at an additional charge soon. So I guess if we don't want to wait or pay whatever "up charge" Tesla wants to offer, the existing Lloyds option will be best. I guess the only good part is that they never charged us for the crappy mats that we do get.
