DS just called.

I'm not sure I can sleep now! But I better, just to make the time go by faster!

Question: the price is still a bit of a sore point for my wife -- is there discussion of the cost at delivery if everything has already been paid via ACH, etc.? I'd prefer to avoid triggering her, we've come to an understanding but best not to pick at the scab :)

Invited 11/24, ordered 12/9, sales guy told me "car is done" in mid Jan, page source estimated delivery: Feb-Early March, Official Estimated delivery on MyTesla 3/5-3/12 (disappeared from site and page source on 3/10), DS called 3/15, delivery scheduled for 3/17.

Congrats pvogel! Looking forward to hearing your experience. From the pictures of others who have taken delivery, there's the MSRP sticker on the car. Perhaps ask your DS to put that away in the glove compartment.

As far as dealing with these "thorny" issues, my tactic is to set low expectations and communicate agreement. Perhaps "I know this car is like $160,000 (go over, not under) and that brings on some stress. But I am so thankful of you for supporting the decision to get the X." And maybe flowers!;)

They really must be targeting those CA deliveries. I'm VIN 101x and won't go into production until the end of the month.
I suppose it's the delivery to the east coast combined with the end of quarter rush.

Model X | Production | VIN 101X | P90D | Midnight Silver | 6 Seats | 20" | Black Leather and Tan Headliner | Carbon Fiber | 72A, | Autopilot | Premium Upgrade | UHFS |

Congrats and welcome to the party. You're gonna love it. As far as your original question, there will be paperwork to sign and the DS may go over the details. Enjoy. Once she rides in it, all will be well by the time you get home.

Peter we paid in advance of our delivery as well this past Monday, and yes price does come up again! Even though you "docusign" everything electronically, they still ask you to sign on paper (again). You also must "accept delivery" on the web which brings up the price again. If both of your names are on the paperwork and/or registration, you'll both need to sign all the paperwork again.

You can talk to them when you arrive and offer to fill out the paperwork alone if your name is the only one. BTW, enjoy the tour. Ours was FANTASTIC and super small, incredibly informative. Gave me such confidence in the future.

Yeah, because of my wife's low vision she's not able to drive, we learned a while back not to put her name on the registration, causes all manner of pain to have someone without a driver's license on the registration.

Peter, we took delivery of our P90D Monday in Fremont. I think the topic of cost will come up even if you've paid in advance. The entire delivery, including review of cost, was conducted by the Delivery Orientation Specialist. We happened to arrive 45 minutes early (unplanned) for our appointment and the DOS invited us to look at the car ahead of time, so she was accessible and available.

Perhaps you could arrive early and talk with your DOS privately ahead of time about costs and ask her not to bring them up, or at least be discrete about them, during the scheduled delivery with your wife. May be worth a try.
