That study terrifies me, as an endocrinologist. Type 1 DM is something we haven't made much "curative" progress on in the past 40 years. Plenty of perpetual treatment progress, but not much curative. Anything that increases the incidence is disturbing.
New study indicates and association between SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in infants and development of anti-islet antibodies (a precursor for Type 1 diabetes).
Not proven causality, but concerning data...
Wow, if the CT is dropped live at the Detroit auto show, that would be the biggest middle finger to both the Detroit 3 and the UAW. I could defiantly see that being something Elon would do.
There are several sites that scrape the Tesla database multiple times per day. One I follow is tesla-info.com. The graph seems consistent with the daily email updates on Y inventory that I get.
I've been seeing this as well. I can say that despite the inventory jump, I'm sitting at a sales/service center right now (blown strut on my 3 - don't ask) and this place is HOPPING in the sales area. Not just people that ordered and are picking up, but I've seen repeated customers drive/walk...
Fremont is already being retrofitted for Highland. ETA for production is Q1 2024.
This aligns correctly with both the major construction permitting changes we have seen for Fremont, as well as the new construction seen on drones (possibly a large pad for more gigapresses, but that's not...
At that production rate, I really can't wait for someone to do a teardown. I'm hopeful that they moved to gigacasts in this iteration, but no one has shown anything on this that I can find.
Any ideas on if the language change on FSD indicates a deferred revenue accounting claim for the currently held FSD funds?
Possibly a one-time, well-timed, injection of funds into Q3 to counterbalance the "factory shutdowns" Elon warned about.
Bosch is withdrawing from the development of lidar sensors

That won't help the cost of Lidar.
Fremont will never produce the Model 2. The entire point of the Model 2 is low cost. Fremont is as expensive as things get for Tesla. Inefficient legacy layout, and Bay Area labor prices.
Anyone else notice the car reviewed has the Hankook Ion EV specific tires?
Lots of people here have really liked those tires. Guess Tesla liked them enough to make them an OEM tire.
Remember, production for the Highland 3 will be akin to the existing Y - shorter assembly lines, shorter assembly time, and overall higher throughput. Margins from the get go on this should be nice, given how much line optimization the Y has had that will be brought to bear immediately on the...
The Volume for VFS Mar 2024 options is miniscule. I'm seeing 100 Calls so far have a volume of 162, and everything else for that date is 25 or less (most single digits).
Liquidity getting out of a position could be a problem.
My rideshare rides in Waymo and Cruise must be WAY different than yours. Both in SF back in June had multiple problems requiring "remote intervention" from their teams.
Apparently, and I kid you not, it's because their official mileage estimates from the EPA came out today, and they are better than Vinfast expected them to be.
Wow, what a low bar for a 100%+ pop on the stock.
There is a looming UAW strike in the next 30 days if an agreement with the "big 3" is not reached.
Do we think something like this will help Tesla and TSLA? Or drag them down along with everyone else?
It's part of how Tesla does "service" in their accounting. Used car sales are bundled in with Service charges, and without the used car sales Tesla would probably book a loss in this category.
Given the trade-in quotes I've seen a few people pass on, Tesla is making very good bank on used Teslas. Probably as much % as a new car in most instances.
That would negatively impact used S/X prices (further). A nerf'd version of the car is essentially a new offering, and doesn't have that downward pull on resell prices.
Not just CT sightings. We're starting to see (at least I do in videos), Model Y's with white interiors. Previously Austin was only doing the black interior.
I'm holding a stack of leaps like this. There is a lot of time left on them, I intend to hold them for at least 6 months longer and not act on them, not unless the stock surpasses 400.
Just my 0.02 - but I would bet that Tesla has an abundance of 16850-based packs (which only the S/X use). If memory serves me, they have a contract with Panasonic Japan for a certain number of cells per quarter of 18650. So, they have to find some way to sell them. Nothing else uses them, not...
It's not right, but it's not uncommon, at least before the pandemic. I remember many an influenza season when we have to mask up prior to going into a room, etc. but the hospital was far less strict on family that were visiting.

Yep, Cruise cars causing a traffic jam in SF.
That's certainly "showing Tesla how its done" /S

To Putler:
$10,000 for 2 chargers, one at home, one at work.
WTH did he install? DCFC to his house? /s
(yes, I saw he had to upgrade his home electric panel - it's a joke)
Great, something else for the CPUC to scew up.
Living in CA, this entity is the primary reason we have the highest power rates in the country (surpassed Hawaii 2 years ago). Not a group that most Californians trust to complete something correctly or in any kind of efficient manner.
