    Wipers now voice controllable

Some of the new voice commands are great, but some just don't work for me at all in the UK. In particular setting a temperature (eg "set temperature to 19") simply doesn't work at all and just responds that it's "enabled climate control" but doesn't change the temp. (I also tried reasonable...

What pleases you and annoys you most about your 3?

I think it can be in cm, but it's an all or nothing metric vs non-metric, so you'd have km and kmph, which is obviously no good in the UK. As a young-ish person in the UK, I'd also love to be able to use the (to be fair, horrifying) combo of cm and miles.

    Best home charger

FWIW I've charged my Model 3 on my parent's EO Mini Pro and it worked absolutely fine, charged at the speed I'd expect etc.

    Noob home charging questions

"Can you install an electric car charger for me?" "Sure, can you just confirm what model it is for the complexity of the install?" "A Tesla wall connector... but it's just to charge my Renault ZOE, honest guv!"

Battery drain while parking at Gatwick

Yeah, it could check in every hour or something, and that could be explicitly part of it, or yeah it could be only brought back to life in the actual vehicle I guess. Yeah, there is, but that "car has gone to sleep" flag doesn't have the same weight as a "user has explicitly put the car to...

Battery drain while parking at Gatwick

I think Tesla could / should solve this problem with a "Full Energy Saving Power Off" button, with some helper text below that clarifies "Use this setting when planning to leave the car parked for a long period without charge. This disables sentry mode, climate controls, and cabin overheat...

Yeah, it definitely didn't mention just a year before on that screen. I think it's always been buried in FAQs and stuff, but that screen definitely did not show the 1 year thing:

    D-day!

I recommend checking out Motorway which is like a "we buy any car" service comparison site (worth checking WBAC too, since they aren't on Motorway), I've been using it to track prices for my car I intend to sell: Motorway: Sell My Car Fast - The Comparison Site to Sell Your Car (Not affiliated...

Has anybody been able to get through to Tesla???

Ha ha, yep, I bet they drafted all of the staff over from their contact centre in the Netherlands to the Heathrow SC so they could all be handing out cars.
  17. alexp2

Has anybody been able to get through to Tesla???

And even if they were reliable, a read receipt would be completely meaningless in a corporate environment you're unfamiliar with the processes for. eg. Tesla could have one person who opens every email immediately when it comes in and sorts it into a bucket for a relevant person to reply to...

    Home charging options

Real World Model 3 UK Experience

Nothing changed with the current models in March, those are two models that were discontinued in March; a mid-range (MR) model with range between the SR and LR, and a LR RWD (not All Wheel Drive) model, which was the highest possible range in a Model 3.

Reg Plate Prefix depends which location you buy

We asked Tesla about this, they won't register it and apply it to the car for you for delivery, but they will make up a set of plates for you so you can do the process to apply the reg to the new car, then once it's applied you can just swap the plates yourself.

    Stick on vinyl number plates

    Text message update!

Well when two people love each other... OH a 69 plate... In the UK car registration plate numbers have a two digit component that represents the 6-month period during which the car was registered. 19 plates will be given out for cars registered up to the end of August, and 69 plates from the...

    Andersen scraps WiFi?

This is definitely their argument. I would argue that in that scenario they should heavily push Ethernet as their recommended option, and help users with that during installs. I think to completely remove Wi-Fi from the spec sheet and leave it entirely unsupported as an option for users where it...

    Andersen scraps WiFi?

My biggest concern with this whole thing isn’t even “could I get it connected with ethernet somehow” but more that this suggests poor engineering / testing standards from Andersen that they have to abandon Wi-Fi in an existing shipping product. o_O
