Passenger vent not turning off when no passenger

Having driven the car through two heating and cooling seasons, I'd say that I'm way more sensitive to cold drafts in the winter than warm spots when the AC is on. I'm pretty sure that in the past the passenger heat did turn off when the seat wasn't occupied, and I would have to select it on...

Still there on my 2021 MYLR, 2022.20.8. Right at the bottom of the Locks page.

    Using Ivy Charger

Yup, tried that and got no response. In hindsight, I suspect the problem might have been because I was already charging another car on CCS, and their system might not allow the same account to be used simultaneously in two locations. I'm passing by there again with just the Tesla next week and...

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

Agree, but at least having it in a phone app makes it easier. Means maintaining a credit balance on yet another charging account though! Petro-Canada charging stations work with credit card - I used one for a CCS charge on an IONIQ a few weeks ago. CC made it a bit simpler, but then it wanted...

I'll be passing by there next week, might take a detour and see how things look for Brockville.

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

FYI Ivy chargers are $18/hr plus HST which works out to 34 cents per minute. I thought that would be a good deal compared to Tesla's recently-inflated SC pricing, but if it's limited to 50 kW then that will not be the case. I checked out the two Onroute locations eastbound from Kingston and...

    Autopilot acceleration

I installed 2022.8.2 yesterday, and the release notes claim that it improves autopilot performance in stop-and-go traffic by using more regen braking. I tried it this morning and the operation seemed much jerkier than before, both in decel and accel. A few times I had to tap the accelerator to...

    Supercharger - Brockville, ON

I tried the Ivy charger at Ingleside onRoute last week. It has a permanenently-installed CHAdeMO to Tesla adapter on a 150 kW station - wow, what a heavy beast! Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work, will test another one on my eastbound trip today.

    Using Ivy Charger

I stopped at the Ingleside onRoute station this week and tried their Tesla-adapted CHAdeMO charger. Made 3 attempts but every one terminated after ~30 seconds. Any suggestions on what I might need to do to make it work? Fortunately I didn't actually need a charge!

    Voice Commands after V11 update

There's a lot of room for improvement: "Set my seat to low" turned the heat to high. "Set my seat heater to low" worked properly. In both cases my exact words appeared on the screen, so it interpreted what I was saying correctly. I also used VC to turn off the front defrost. It took...

    2022.4.5

That's certainly my solution. I prefer to have the pedal response the same all the time. I can always decide how hard to press. I do have a dedicated profile with Chill/Creep (and no auto-locks) for putting the car in the garage though.

    2022.4.5

Interestingly, not the case on M3/MY - only stopping mode cannot be changed while driving. Steering response can also be changed while in motion but it's conventional suspension so no adjustments. @JohnB007, everything you modify will automatically be saved to the active driver profile.

    2022.4.5

Welcome to the collective! You should be able to find a PDF owner's manual online - I believe it's accessible through your Tesla account once you have placed an order. That will help you understand the finer points on the car. I think what you're looking for is probably Standard and Chill...

    Suggestions for V11 Rework/Improvements

You're discovering the issues that many of us have been unhappy with since V11 appeared almost 2 months ago. Light controls can be accessed by moving the left stalk forward or back. Fan speed does have one-touch functionality - just tap either side of the dot to move one speed step, or tap at...

My windshield wipers are autoing unnecessarily !

Thanks, that clears things up. My previous experience with ACC was Subaru Eyesight which also uses binocular cameras. That cruise control didn't care whether the wipers were operating or not, but in heavy precipitation it would turn itself off due to loss of visibility. Subaru took the same...

But I just noticed today that it doesn't come on when you make a change on the climate page, and I have determined from experience that those settings are definitely linked to your profile.

My windshield wipers are autoing unnecessarily !

That's exactly why I keep mine turned off all winter and just actuate manually when I know it's the right time. Auto wipers are a nice feature, and they work passably in summer conditions, but I don't feel bad about missing out on the automation in order to avoid the annoyance. I just don't...

My windshield wipers are autoing unnecessarily !

Trying to make sense of this - I leave mine set to OFF all winter and use TACC all the time without wipers coming on. Is this just an issue for Tesla Vision cars? Mine's one of the early 2021s with radar, so maybe that's why I've been spared this headache.

I had wondered about thoase but assumed they were intended for stationary use. Will the sunshade stay in place with the amount this car moves around on a rough road?

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

In fact, the climate page does cover the car visualization as well. I had a coincidental experience today - I was driving on the highway, rounding a curve uphill into the setting sun on a very clear day. I have never been so completely blinded while I was in control of a car. I could not see...

Yes, it looks that way. I really wish we had a list of every setting that's attached to each driver profile, I suspect it's quite extensive now. I know it includes HVAC, which is why you might find a different temperature and seat heater setting when you get in the car after you precondition...

That sucks! Does MS have "close window on lock" option? That, combined with the app alert for open windows, is a good measure but I don't know how many models it works on. Maybe it's worth raising a service request, at least that way you can see if it's a known issue.

You can trade cars with me. Mine is on all the time - even where I have excluded it - and I don't know why that is happening. I'm always tapping the red dot to turn it off when I park at home. Do you have Sentry selected on in the Safety page?

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

Obviously those are the primary checks and that's still part of Driving 101. I'm not suggesting anything different. The fact remains that with these additional aids being available, drivers will use them. My only point is that the passenger should not have the ability to hide any of the...

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

I'm actually hoping one of the aftermarket suppliers will develop an internal "beanie" for the glass roof. It gets hella cold in the winter and there's a notable convection of cold air coming down. I'd be happy to lose the view in order to have a bit more comfort in the cabin.

Seat heater won't activated with app after 2021.44.30 update

Interesting - so far my issue has only been in the app. Every second or third time I turn on climate, I don't have any seat heater controls. I go back to the home page and re-open the climate page and the icons will appear.

The dashcam icon is now part of the customizable package, either move it to the launcher bar or press the 3 dots to access. The (welcome) changeTesla made in 2022.4.5 is to restore the function for that icon to save dashcam clips while driving, but it always launched the viewer while parked.

Wonder why they didn't do that on Model 3/Y? It certainly is a pain the way it works now.

    2022.4.5

Sure would be nice! My VW wipers come out of service position just by activating them normally. Not only do Tesla wipers stay in service mode regardless of wiper selection, the button to cancel service mode is grayed out once D is engaged.

There's now a heater under the wiper parking area. If you didn't get your car this year, you probably won't have the feature. I haven't seen anything that clearly shows when the production cut-in was. How to tell if you have heated wipers on your Tesla Model 3/Y (if you don't have 2022.4.5 yet)
  33. W

    2022.4.5

No, the system keeps working and will run until the battery goes flat - which will take many hours. You just get alerted that it's time to come back and check on Fido.

    2022.4.5

It's Keep and Dog modes that are not available if battery is below 20%. If you park the car with climate running and battery drops below 20% you'll be notified in the app so you can intercede. Climate works below 20% if you're in the car. This is not new BTW

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

Sorry, I used all but 2 of the permitted 1000 characters so no room for alternate viewpoints. I'll let the regulators determine what is safe and what is not. There's actually a very simple solution to the problem - just make tapping the temperature open the corresponding mini-page (now you...

Seat heater won't activated with app after 2021.44.30 update

I've noticed the same problem. I suspect it has something to do with the occupant detection they implemented for the auto seat heater operation. I leave mine in manual all the time, but that doesn't seem to help. In addition, I experience many cases where I open the climate page in the app...

    2022.4.5

I find it intriguing that Tesla is so concerned about durability of the seat motors that they want to penalize those who use adjustments too much, but they seem to have done nothing to correct the ongoing problem of erroneous driver detection which also causes unnecessary wear and tear!
  39. W

    2022.4.5

I was wondering if something like that was going to happen, but the seat movement was never interrupted. I assume they have also added an error or caution message when excessive seat adjustment is detected.

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

Yes, but the perspective is way off because of the extremely wide angle lens. Side mirrors work too, although I was having a bit of trouble seeing those because of the condensation on the driver's window - which the HVAC does a lousy job of clearing. My point was that VC are not a panacea...

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

Safely, but with more distraction. I have reported one V11 issue to Transport Canada that I do believe affects safety. It's now very easy for the passenger to obscure the driving display when they tap their temperature icon. The climate page covers all adjacent traffic and the blind spot...

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

Have you used voice command for rear defroster? I had to do it when I picked up my car after heat pump rebuild and the windows were frosted up from all the interior humidity. I didn't look out the back window before pulling away, and realized while I was driving that it was obscured. Things...

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

The new V11 dashcam icon now has two functions after 2022.4.5 (as it always should have). In park, it opens the viewer. While driving, it saves a dashcam clip. Easy peasy, Tesla - why didn't you get it right the first time?

It does. VC failed for me yesterday in town with good cell coverage, took a few minutes come back on line.

    Reports of upcoming V11 fixes?

Mine's MSM with black seats and it still gets frigging cold inside when I park it outside. I make a habit of turning on the heat pump and setting seat heat to high well before I get into the car because I don't enjoy shivering. The tinted glass roof is the same for every paint colour, and that...

    2022.4.5

One thing that was good in V10 was the STOP button that popped up whenever the driver profile started to change automatically. With V11, that disappeared and the only way to stop the repositioning was to move one of the seat controls momentarily. After 2022.4.5, I was playing around with...

As far as I can see, there's no change in the actual charger display, just easier access. Types of chargers shown depend on whether you select 1, 2 or 3 lightning bolts. One thing to be careful about is that many settings are automatically saved in driver profiles, so it may be different...
