    Charging on the Downs

Hi All, I wanted to update you all on this site. The Girraween Eco Lodge did install 2 tesla destination chargers. They are attached to the laundry building and free for those staying at the lodge. Getting out there from Brisbane was easy in one charge in my P100DX with about 100km left in...

    Model X Review

Congratulations @PaulW on becoming a brisbane model X owner. We have an active group here who arrange meet ups. Hope to see you at one soon. We are all quite excited by the state government electric highway which is nearly fully installed. Great time to be an EV owner.

Can someone lend this Queenslander a CHAdeMO?

Yes TOCA have loan adaptors in QLD. This is why I haven’t bought one myself.

Tesla adventure in Outback Queensland and North-QLD

I love love loved the playful upside down platypus. I never seen one do that. Just seeing a platypus in the wild is a rare experience, let alone one that was playful swimming. You are both blessed to have seen that.

Tesla adventure in Outback Queensland and North-QLD

Thanks for your time and energy on this project. I do hope this helps EV take up beyond the SE corner of QLD. Hope to hear good news about NSF soon. Love the platypus and had forgotten how cute emu chicks really are.

    Red Centre Adventure !

OMG these photos! Tessie looks amazing. Tessie and the Aliens - cute. Tessie and Uluru at sunset. Seriously, car companies could spend serious $ and never get a photo that iconic. Thats a magazine cover shot.

    Red Centre Adventure !

Well done @RichardMcN great publicity for EV ownership. Kudos AEVA and TOCA for the funding for plugs. Hope tessie enjoys her second trip and gets home safely with her drivers minus the bore water experience this time. Eek.

What have you named your car?

The TARDIS Because its blue, a spaceship and bigger on the inside than it appears from outside

    Red Centre Adventure !

Tessie of the Outback for sure! I agree Kings Canyon is much more spectacular viewing. Beautiful photos thanks for sharing and taking the time to stop and get such fabulous shots.

Fingers crossed for Tessie on the Mereenie Loop Road. Waiting for the obligatory (and no doubt awesome) photo of Tessie with Uluru in the background.

"Electric Cars Will Not Tackle Air Polution"

I'm going to give Frank Kelly the benefit of the doubt for now that what he was possibly trying to say was 'yes it is good to reduce all air particulates, exhaust and non-exhaust. We have regulations to reduce exhaust emissions and we do not have regulations to reduce non exhaust emissions and...

    How common is ghosting?

Glad i came back to these ghosting threads and found out about the new windscreen. I have had the X for 6 months and knew about it but since i also wear glasses and have always experienced fuzzy/halos with lights on cars at night, i never thought to determine if my X was 'worse'. I decided...

    Red Centre Adventure !

Motivation indeed. Actually what you say makes a lot of sense regarding outback driving and hypermiling in an EV. I am sure you have it down to a fine art by now. I assume there are times you have been a little less conservative this year, just due to experience. And others (like the Adelaide...

    Red Centre Adventure !

Fabulous wh/km Richard. I need to learn to drive like you. How much dust is getting inside? I noticed my seals coped very well after my offroad adventures but certainly accumulated dust in the charge port and at the bottom of the falcon wing doors. What impress me is the sensors/cameras...

    Red Centre Adventure !

284wh/km in an S driving at 100km/h. That was some headwind indeed. I only know that amazingly bad due to this forum. Thats my Xs daily average for me after a couple of squirts of ludicrous on the way to work!

Good luck Tessie, i hope the unsealed road is kind to you. Enjoy the famed Henley on Todd.

    Non-Tesla Fast Chargers in QLD

@RichardMcN hey so i sent my sister an email titled 'roadtrip to cairns in my X' with a link to the announcement. No reply. This just the same week as she justified getting a Lexus not a tesla because "infrastructure" and "making cars uses lots of non sustainable energy" At least shes moved...

    Pleather for all...

Interesting question re the off gassing with the white seats. I hadn't really thought about it, my X (delivered in Jan southern hemisphere) had a new car smell that was a lot milder than i have previously experienced. Now i think back, i didnt get any interior windscreen 'mist' after it sat in...

    Valet mode and Autopresent

I quite like autopresent now that i am used to it. Especially with 2 arms full of stuff getting into the car. But it has the potential for issues especially if you give the car to someone else to drive who isn't a regular X driver and they don't know the car like you do. So it seems logical to...

    Ventilate seat? Really?

Exactly the effect i get with these seats, no sweaty feeling. Also agree with the post above, i like to be cool without the blowing from the AC, i always turn the vents off me. So these seats are the perfect cooling effect.

    Ventilate seat? Really?

I live in a hot humid climate, while i cant feel it, i know its working because i dont have my upper legs and back 'stuck' to the seat by my sweaty clothes. IMHO its working a treat so i do hope it makes a comeback in future models

    Model X Review

Re the tinting, i live in Qld and i just have the factory tint. The tesla shades are still in the froot (frunk) unused. The factory tinting is perfectly acceptable and very very good at taking the heat out of the sun. We were pleasantly surprised how good it is.

Idiot in the P100D with his Left turn Signal on for 3 Miles

Hearing aids.. you will discover all sorts of things that blip and ding that you never knew made a noise. Or for those times when i am driving alone and dont need to listen to passengers so take my aids out, bifocals are the go. As mr motorbike says it becomes a habit to look for the flashing...

    Model X Review

Mine seems ok. Also drove though a school 40 zone with a 60 just in front of it on a Saturday to see what would do. Picked it up as 60. But as @NovoCasGreeny says perhaps its geomapped. @Oz Will not had it that bad yet, but husband seems to think it has potential for that problem. If that...

Ah yes, i do have the self presenting door option. (Athough i have it disabled atm) I wonder if that makes a difference. Yes speaking to tesla is probably the best option.

    Model X Review

I never had the open on approach with key function on. Always off. No issues with the front doors, i am very confident in them, they appear to have great sensors and havent bumped into anything yet. If they open narrow due to another car, thats fine, i Then manually open the next inch or so so...

    Model X Review

3 weeks in and no, i have not had that problem with the doors at all. They have been very reliable and i am not over them as these car journalists seem to think will happen. if i want to throw something in the back i do that via the boot/trunk. Its not so hard. And get the white seats if you...

    Autopilot 1 on Autopilot 2HW?

Paperwork indicates AP. Confirmed today i have exactly 1 thing. Cruise control, the basic kind, set a speed and the car runs at that speed regardless. I have no shadowing or lines or anything on the display. I was told this was an Australian decision to disable everything completely until...

    Autopilot 1 on Autopilot 2HW?

A little, ive had it barely 36hour, 24 of which i was in another city. I will try AP today for the first time. So far no autowipers or auto headlights which is annoying considering the buttons we had to push to find where the lights were!

    Model X Launch In Oz

So over on the UK MX thread people are talking about estimated delivery dates on their myTesla. Ive never had one. Is that normal for the Aus mytesla site? At first i thought it was because they literally had no idea when they would be built, then once built it never came through so i figured...
