Really? Tesla is a little too cost conscious!

My favorite is the 2" premium sun visors. They work perfectly before 6 a.m. and after 8 p.m.

    Stay away from SolarEdge inverter

Is current sensor suite enough to reach FSD? (out of main)

Having owned a 2016 Model S with FSD and now a 2020 Model X with FSD, here's my bet. Neither car will ever drive a mile with true Level 4 or 5 FSD.

How much do you trust basic Autopilot?

And our I-Pace and my daughter's 2018 Nissan Rogue work just as well in the driving situations you've described... minus the Elon hype and beta B.S., of course.

    Remember When?

And I fully expect people like you to excuse any accident a Tesla happens to get into. Juries that have actually heard both sides seem to feel differently.

How much do you trust basic Autopilot?

Before dumping our Tesla, I used to tell folks to drive with AutoPilot as if you were holding a toddler in your lap and letting them steer. Not exactly the engineering marvel that Elon paints, but it will keep you alive.

    Remember When?

Smashing into the back of vehicles, and fire trucks, and lane dividers doesn't strike me as over-scholarly design either. Oh yeah, it's beta so that excuses everything. Right?

And how do YOU know whether it's superior or not? Care to know how many times Tesla's AutoPilot almost drove me into a ditch, a barrier, or another vehicle? I don't have enough fingers and toes to do the math, but I have more than I would have had if I'd actually depended upon AutoPilot. My...

Model S/X deliveries drop off cliff, down 56%

Oh boy! A more expensive, glorified golf cart. Should be a big seller. Kinda reminds me of the push by developers to sell lofts which were nothing more than gutted apartments at finished apartment prices.

Model S/X deliveries drop off cliff, down 56%

Doesn't get that cold in Charleston, SC, but in sub-freezing temps this winter, we were seeing about 210 miles of range. Now that spring temps have arrived, we're back up to 240 miles which is about the same range we had with our P90D. We didn't buy the car for trips. We bought it for in-town...

Model S/X deliveries drop off cliff, down 56%

Looking at the inside of my I-Pace and comparing it to the interior of our previous 2016 Model S is night and day. In two more years when there is a competitive charging network for the other brands including the I-Pace, Elon will either have to give away supercharging or go out of business. He...

Elon: "Feature complete for full self driving this year"

One man's fluff is another man's stuff you step on in the cow pasture. Wouldn't count on either of them to move a vehicle safely down the road.
  25. NerdUno

Elon: "Feature complete for full self driving this year"

You've moved the goal posts. Your claim was that Lidar vehicles were having "similar issues." I think the evidence suggests that the issues aren't similar to Tesla's at all. For openers, discounting the trumped up video, Tesla doesn't have ANY vehicle that can drive itself today. Both the...

Elon: "Feature complete for full self driving this year"

Yeah. That's why the Lidar cars are out driving themselves around today while Teslas still are trying to figure out whether the tree limb is in the middle of the road or fifteen feet above it. Put down your Kool-Aid cups, Tesla fans.

[Updated] Model 3 CCS / CHAdeMO adapter

The vast majority of Model S and X drivers still have free charging at Tesla Superchargers. So there's no worry of competition in that segment of their market. Model 3 owners, on the other hand, all have to pay for charging on the road and savvy consumers would quickly move to the lowest cost...

[Updated] Model 3 CCS / CHAdeMO adapter

[Updated] Model 3 CCS / CHAdeMO adapter

My expectation is that Tesla will honor their representations that superchargers and service centers are not "profit centers," and that doesn't mean dipping into the proceeds to cover future construction costs of additional superchargers and service centers. I think we all fully appreciate the...

[Updated] Model 3 CCS / CHAdeMO adapter

Not sure why you can't do your own research, but here goes. True to form, Tesla doesn't publish their rates other than an "average" U.S. rate of $ 0.28 per kWh. You can probably guess why. Check your vehicle's maps for the cost at individual superchargers. That average rate is roughly triple the...

[Updated] Model 3 CCS / CHAdeMO adapter

What have you been smokin'? Tesla said the same thing about service. Have you compared Tesla pricing to local utility rates lately? HINT: Prices went up considerably. It's more than doubled local electric rates and, in many cases, roughly the same cost per mile as gasoline for a gas guzzler...
  41. NerdUno

[Updated] Model 3 CCS / CHAdeMO adapter

Just curious. What's the incentive for Tesla to ever release these adapters? All they will do is let people that now are having to pay Tesla for charging move to Tesla's competitors. Some anti-trust fans might call it tying.

    Auto-Pilot Accident at 80mph - Totaled Car

Lane Darts is the reason we sold our Tesla. Sure there are many ways to compensate for AutoPilot's quirks, but why should you have to?? We have Lane Keeping Assist (Mobileye) on 3 other cars (Nissan Rogue, Jag I-Pace, and Range Rover), and I've never seen the abrupt turning maneuvers that our...
