Passed by this morning and saw that the transformer has been installed! Lights for the units are still off. Seems like any day now.

I was in the area this morning. Still no change. Plywood still overing the big hole where the transformer would go. Seems almost like a joke at this point.

    Seattle Area SCCA-Like Tesla Events

Alright.... I'm down to give this a shot. I can't make it on the 15th but it looks like the next one after that is on the 30th (on the AutoX schedule but not the track schedule). But I'm only going if there'll be other Teslas there. I too have heard the stories of this red Model 3 at Evergreen...

    Seattle Area SCCA-Like Tesla Events

There's that big expansion of the Pacific Innovation Center and Motorsports Park project happening right now at PR. Maybe that's where new SCs would go? A SC right there at PR would be HUGE! It would make PR just as capable for Teslas as some of the tracks in Cali are. Now all we need is for...

    Formula E - Vancouver, BC

This year Formula E will be holding it's first event in Vancouver, BC on July 2nd, 2022: 2022 VANCOUVER E-PRIX This is reminiscent of the day back in the 1990's and early 2000's when the Indy CART series ran a city circuit in downtown Vancouver, 'cept this time they'll be electric.

    Seattle Area SCCA-Like Tesla Events

The days of autoX events at Boeing Everett are long gone. We lost access about 11 years ago, if I recall correctly. BEAC uses Sanderson Field exclusively now as do a lot of car clubs in the area. It probably brings in more income to the port of Shelton during the warm months than the planes...

    Seattle Area SCCA-Like Tesla Events

I'm a local autoX-er / occasional HPDE participant in the Seattle area. You're absolutely right that there are very little involvement from Teslas when it comes to autoX and HPDEs, unlike CA where there's a lot of Tesla involvement. I think the main reason why The Ridge and Pacific Raceways...

Byron did a 'How long can a Tesla keep you warm in winter?' test about a year ago. Definitely worth the time to watch. It should put to rest anyone's concerns.

Alaska Highway Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

More or less a hunch. There would have to be enough vehicles willing & capable to travel that route before Tesla would invest in expanding to connect the lower 48 to AK. While the S3XY line up can make that drive today, they would probably be limited to only 4 months for S & 3 and maybe 6...

Alaska Highway Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

The earliest Tesla will probably have this section of the SC network built out will probably be a year after the Cybertruck is in full volume production, maybe summer 2024.

Scan My Tesla for Track Duty

Scan My Tesla for Track Duty

While the Track Mode display and other data loggers work well, I found Scan My Tesla worked really well not for just data logging the parameters that you could only get from an ODB2 connection but also as telemetry. I mounted an 8" tablet to an adjustable free floating mount that doesn't get in...

    2021 Tesla Model 2, 20" Uberturbines

I'm more than happy to sell them to anyone. I just would like the convenience of a local pickup and not have to deal with the complexities of shipping. C'mon up to Seattle, we're at the time of year where you can almost step outside without getting wet. ;)

Yep, thanks for the suggestion. I've been a member of SEVA in the past, back in the days when Don Crabtree and Dave Cloud were still with us. I'm currently not a member. Looking for a shop with a history of automotive tuning that's specific to EVs now or a new shop that is made up of EV...

    2021 Uberturbine Wheel Weight

Yeah, this was the lightest of the 2 wheels I weighed (the other one was 39 lbs). The tire is pretty much at the end of its usable life a lot of rubber had been spent. When new its 22 lbs according to Tirerack. I don't know if a tire like this can lose 5-6 lbs of rubber, I'd have to weigh it...

dragy 10Hz GPS - Mounting Location On Model 3 ?

Just to FYI. Wherever you decide to mount it, DO NOT use the adhesive steel plates that come with it on the dash board. Only after 2 days I noticed that something didn't look right. I removed the plate and attempted to clean it up with a clean microfiber and some interior cleaner. I...

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

I'm noticing the the octovalue is one noisy bit of Tesla tech. Whenever my car turns on it seems like it starts up w/ a lot of whirling and gurgling that I can even hear inside the car while driving down the street at times. Works really well though. It seems to warm up the cabin really...

    2021 Model 3 and differences from 2020

Something I noticed today when driving down the same route twice; once in my 2018 and later in the 2021. The 2021 is definitely quieter. Seems like the major difference in noise comes from the tires and/or through the floor of the cabin. Stock wheels and tires on both: 2018: 18" w/ Michelin...

This might have been mentioned earlier in the thread, disregard if it has: I've been watching Bjorn Nyland's episodes with the 2021 AWD he's testing and he briefly mentioned that the aftermarket (and I assume the ones currently available from Tesla) sun shades don't fit the 2021. I took the...

    Roof Tinting Yay or Nay?

I say nah to roof tint. I got the roof screens (https://www.amazon.com/Sunshade-Overhead-Custom-Fit-Sunshades-Compatible/dp/B07Q9BC8K7/ref=sr_1_3_sspa) and they worked fantastic during the summer. They definitely made it cooler in the car with them than without. It also blocked a lot of the...

Seattle P3D: all-season tires vs winter wheel + tire package

ChadS, how much clearance are you getting between the inside of the wheel and the rear caliper. I like the idea of getting 18's for winter tires, just wondering if the TSportline wheels and other 18" makes have better clearance than the stock 18's. Thanks.

I think Wade Anderson from Tesla Social did that when he went to Alaska in his Model 3. You can review his videos and count, it may not have been continuous but while he was north of the US boarder he was pretty much living out of his car for about 2 or more weeks it seems...

Something that I haven't seen covered by the reviews out of China is can the rear trunk now be opened AND closed from the MCU and the phone app? I would think that it would but I haven't seen any verification of it yet.
